BMW Group South Africa will take a trio of motorsport-honed performance models to Knysna to compete in the 15th edition of the popular Simola Hillclimb from 1 – 4 May, 2025.
The annual event remains a key component of the South African motorsport calendar, attracting competitors and enthusiasts from around the world. This year, BMW Group South Africa will field entrants in Saturday’s King of the Hill competition for standard production and road-going cars. They are:
- BMW M4 Competition, sponsored by BMW Group South Africa's ZA Hub. Driver Cristiano Verolini will compete in the A4 Category.
- BMW M2, sponsored by MUA and Compass Insure. Driver Leyton Fourie was the 2023 BMW M2 Cup Champion and currently competes in the German ADAC GT Masters series with FK Performance, driving a BMW M4 GT3 EVO. Leyton will compete in the A3 Category.
- MINI JCW, sponsored by BP Ultimate and Castrol. Driven by Bradleigh Boshoff, it will compete in the A1 category. Despite its storied motorsport history, this is MINI's first time in Simola Hillclimb’s King of the Hill.
Additional sponsors include Sparco for racing suits and the team gear, and Akrapovič for its performance exhaust systems.
