BMW Group South Africa is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Niklas Fichtmüller as Director of BMW Group Plant Rosslyn, effective from 1 April 2023. Dr Fichtmüller succeeds Mr John Mouton, who has retired after 42 years with the BMW Group.

Mr Govender, a BMW veteran with 20 years of experience working for the group, will assume the role as the new Head of Product Communications for BMW Group South Africa & Sub-Saharan Africa from 1 August, 2021.

Oliver Zipse will assume the role of Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG effective on 16 August 2019. The company’s Supervisory Board made this decision today during its meeting in Spartanburg, South Carolina (USA). Zipse will succeed Harald Krüger, who informed the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at the beginning of July that he would not seek a second term of office.
The Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Harald Krüger, gave notice today that he will not seek a second term of office. The Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr Norbert Reithofer, has complete respect and understanding for his decision. The Supervisory Board will address the matter of a successor during its next meeting on 18 July 2019.
On 1 April, Bernd Körber (44) took over as the new head of MINI. It’s a return to the brand for Bernd, who worked in MINI brand management when he first joined the BMW Group in 2003.

Sales and marketing operations in Asia Pacific (excluding China), Eastern Europe (outside EU), the Middle East and Africa will be integrated into a single sales region. Hendrik von Kuenheim will take responsibility for this new region on 1st February 2019 and further leverage the opportunities for growth in this dynamic set of countries.

On 1 January 2019, Alejandro Vukotich will take over as Senior Vice President of the BMW Group’s Driver Assistance and Autonomous Driving Development department. He is being appointed to replace Elmar Frickenstein, who has been in charge of the department since its creation in May 2016.
