The MINI Countryman Rugged Edition redefines exploration

Exclusive to the South African market, and limited to 100 units, the MINI Countryman Rugged Edition embodies the versatility and ‘can-do’ attitude that today’s adventurers expect from a Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV). Featuring unique design details and outdoor-oriented features, the variant celebrates individuality and exploration, reinforcing MINI South Africa’s commitment to offering a diverse range of premium, personality-driven mobility options.

Adventure-driven design

Central to the Rugged Edition’s visual presence are decorative bonnet stripes and a grille decal that reinforce the variant’s adventurous character. Inspired by the mountain-like decals on the MINI Countryman’s C-pillar badge, these graphics give the variant a more distinctive presence and signal a taste for adventure. Complementing the design is the addition of 18-inch Y-spoke wheels in Frozen Midnight Grey, fitted with all-terrain tyres for extra confidence on gravel or rough surfaces.

Inside, the MINI Countryman’s feature set is complemented by all-weather mats, ensuring drivers and passengers need not worry about bringing the elements into the car with them.

Owners also have the option to further customise their vehicle with two complimentary roof-mounted accessories from the MINI Original Accessories catalogue. Depending on their lifestyle and travel needs, owners can choose between a roof box for extra storage or a roof-mounted bicycle carrier for outdoor escapes.

The MINI Countryman Rugged Edition is available in four exterior colours, each expressing a unique identity for both the vehicle and its owner:

The Rugged Edition leads the local rollout of the latest-generation MINI Countryman. Launched globally in 2023, the Countryman remains the largest member of the MINI family, standing taller and longer than its predecessor. The result is a model that offers increased interior space, enhanced practicality and a commanding road presence on both urban and off-road terrain.

Positioned as a premium compact SAV, the MINI Countryman Rugged Edition embodies MINI’s take on adventure-ready versatility, where design, technology and capability meet to deliver a truly distinctive driving experience.

The Rugged Edition is available in both MINI Countryman C and Countryman S engine variants, with two trim levels: Classic Trim (C and S) and Favoured Trim (S only).

Power and performance

The MINI Countryman C features a 1,499 cc three-cylinder petrol engine, developing 115 kW and 230 Nm of torque, capable of 0–100 km/h in nine seconds.

The more powerful MINI Countryman S, equipped with a 1,998 cc four-cylinder petrol engine and ALL4 all-wheel drive, produces 150 kW and 300 Nm of torque, sprinting from 0–100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds. Both engine variants are paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission for smooth, responsive performance.
