As South Africans prepare for the Easter holiday period, BMW Group South Africa is encouraging drivers to begin their journeys right with a complimentary pre-trip vehicle inspection at their nearest BMW or MINI retailer. Available for vehicles of any age, even those no longer covered by Motorplan, the inspections are designed to enhance peace of mind ahead of long-distance travel. The initiative reflects BMW Group South Africa’s Customer Support philosophy, ‘Relax. We Care.’: a commitment to proactive customer care, expert service, and ensuring every journey is as seamless as possible.


Support When It Matters Most
Unexpected situations can arise at any time, and the Easter period is no exception. BMW On Call and MINI Assist provides 24-hour roadside assistance and accident support, coordinating help whenever it is needed. Should the situation involve a flat tyre, a mechanical concern, or an accident, they ensure prompt assistance and, where necessary, towing to an authorised repair centre. During peak travel seasons, BMW On Call teams are out on the road, positioned along key national routes to keep BMW and MINI drivers moving.


Motorplan: Comprehensive Cover for BMW and MINI Owners
Underpinning that roadside confidence is BMW’s proprietary Motorplan, first introduced in South Africa in 1985. Motorplan provides peace of mind for five years or 100,000 kilometres, with BMW On Call or MINI Assist roadside assistance included as a standard feature. Cover extends across a wide range of essential service and maintenance requirements, including:
•    Repairs to major components
•    Scheduled maintenance aligned with Condition Based Servicing
•    Replacement of essential fluids, including engine oil and brake fluid, during servicing
•    Wear-and-tear components where applicable
•    Genuine BMW Parts fitted by trained BMW and MINI technicians
Motorplan coverage can be extended up to a total of seven years or 200,000 kilometres, ensuring continued protection well into ownership.

That peace of mind extends to the quality of the work itself. All servicing and repairs are carried out by trained BMW technicians using Genuine BMW Parts, ensuring every vehicle continues to meet the BMW Group’s standards for engineering, safety, and long-term value. Parts are supplied through BMW Group South Africa’s Regional Distribution Centre, with logistics systems in place to ensure reliable and timely delivery to retailers nationwide. Strict serial tracking and quality verification safeguard customers against counterfeit components.

Service with Proactive Care
Working quietly in the background is BMW or MINI Service with Proactive Care, an innovative customer service solution that delivers individual, pre-emptive support to BMW and MINI owners. Using vehicle sensors and the BMW Group’s ConnectedDrive system, it monitors a vehicle’s condition on an ongoing basis. When a potential service or maintenance requirement is detected, a preferred retailer may proactively contact the customer to assist with scheduling an appointment, helping to maintain reliability, optimise performance, and reduce the likelihood of unexpected repair costs.


Flexible Options Beyond Motorplan
For vehicles no longer covered by Motorplan, BMW Group South Africa offers Value Service options and My BMW Plans. These tailored service solutions provide competitive pricing while maintaining BMW Group quality standards, so customers can continue to enjoy expert care at every stage of their vehicle’s life.
