Munich (DE), 26th May 2015. It has started: With an action-packed race weekend and two gripping races, the DTM kicked off the 2015 season at the Hockenheimring (DE) at the beginning of May. This weekend sees BMW Motorsport compete with its rivals on the Lausitzring (DE) for the second time this year.
Whether in the DTM, the United SportsCar Championship, or countless other championships: week after week BMW teams and drivers around the world do battle for points, victories and titles. Away from the track too, members of the large BMW Motorsport family around the world are also creating headlines.
Munich, 18th May, 2015. The winning streak of BMW Motorrad in road racing continues: Last week, the prestigious North West 200 (NW200) in Northern Ireland kicked off the international road racing season – with the BMW S 1000 RR being the 1000 cc bike to beat.
Nürburgring (DE), 17th May 2015. Strong showing in the “Green Hell”: BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS finished second at the Nürburgring 24 Hours (DE). After 156 laps, the number 25 BMW Z4 GT3 crossed the line at the 43rd running of the endurance classic just 40.729 seconds behind the winning car. It was the closest finish in the history of the event since 1970.
Nürburgring 24 Hours: Strong outing in the “Green Hell”. Second, fourth, sixth and 15th: the BMW Z4 GT3 enjoyed a good result at the Nürburgring 24 Hours (DE).
Nürnberg (DE), 26th April 2015. Smoking tyres, roaring engines, enthusiastic fans: At the BMW Dealership in Nürnberg (DE), BMW Motorsport presented the motorsport programme for the 2015 season in front of thousands of spectators in an entertaining show. It was the first time that the annual BMW Motorsport Car Launch had been held in Nürnberg, home of reigning DTM Champion Marco Wittmann (DE) who lives just a few kilometres away in Fürth (DE).
Munich (DE), 24th April 2015. The driver line-up has been announced for a very special motorsport project: BMW works driver Alessandro Zanardi (IT) will contest the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BE) alongside BMW DTM drivers Timo Glock (DE) and Bruno Spengler (CA).
Munich, 22nd April 2015. One of the first highlights of the year for BMW Motorrad Motorsport was held last weekend in France: the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. At the “Circuit de la Sarthe”, the new BMW S 1000 RR had a successful debut at this endurance classic.
The 2014 BMW International Polo Series saw an epic battle between the youth of the South African team and the experience of Team USA. The South Africans, having never played together as a team before, pulled out all the stops against the competitive and well-regarded USA team to win the final Test, 10-6 at Waterfall Polo Estate in Johannesburg, on Sunday.
