A whirlwind promotional tour has been scheduled so that followers and
supporters of last year's most talked about two-wheel journey can meet
adventurer and celebrity Charley Boorman. The tour will visit a number of BMW
Motorrad Great Britain dealerships and attend special events around the country.

After leaving London on two BMW Motorrad R1150 GS Adventures back in April
2004, actors and biking enthusiasts Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode over
20,000 miles, across three continents and through fifteen countries. The two
friends completed their global adventure in New York just over three months
later.

Since then, the Long Way Round has been a star attraction on the BMW Motorrad
stands at all major motorcycle shows around the country. The success of the
project has been generated by a hugely popular television series screened by
SKY; a best-selling hardback book; a CD soundtrack, and best-selling DVD (which
has recently gone platinum).

Following a sell-out Long Way Round tour at selected BMW dealerships in
December 2004, and a hugely popular appearance on the BMW stand at January's
MCN London Bike Show, motorcyclists will have a second chance to meet half of
the BMW biking duo - Charley Boorman. The promotion starts at the new BMW
Bristol Motorrad dealership on Friday 25 February before visiting other
Motorrad venues in Sunderland, Northampton, Hertford and Surrey.

Each BMW Motorrad dealership evening event will include a special screening of
edited highlights of Long Way Round footage; a question and answer session, and
an autograph opportunity with Charley Boorman.

Charley will also appear on the BMW stand at the Dublin Motorcycle and Scooter
Show, and the Scottish Motorcycle Show at the beginning of March for DVD and
book signings, photograph opportunities, and much more.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
