Following a UK press launch in southern Spain earlier this month, the new BMW
sports tourer - the R1200 ST - was publicly launched on Saturday 12 March and
was a star attraction at 34 Motorrad dealerships for the official BMW New
Season Launch events.

BMW customers have been impatiently waiting to see the all-new 110bhp
flat-twin appear in dealership showrooms. Following the media hype after its
first tantalising appearance to the international press at the Bologna Motor
Fair in Italy last December, the R1200 ST was then unveiled to eager UK
motorcyclists at this year's MCN London Bike Show.

Now, BMW enthusiasts are able to assess the newest of BMW's new generation
machines. Dubbed 'a long distance sprinter' the dynamic and agile sports
tourer capitalises on the huge success of the R1200 GS and the recently
launched R1200 RT. As a replacement for the R1150 RS - one of BMW's most
popular sports tourers - the R1200 ST looks set to take 'success' to another
level.

The R1200 ST (Sports Tourer) boasts all the essential characteristics of its
predecessor and a great deal more. The ST is equipped with the same (but more
highly developed) boxer engine and innovative chassis technology as the R1200
GS, as well as boasting 15bhp more power and 17kg less weight compared with the
R1150 RS. When this is combined with advanced rider ergonomics - such as a
choice of three handlebar and four seat height positions; improved aerodynamics
and increased weather protection - motorcyclists are guaranteed high levels of
touring comfort and an outstanding ride.

A number of comprehensive options and accessories are available to cater to
the ST rider's individual requirements, specifically integral ABS, heated
grips, chrome-plated exhaust system and a new luggage system featuring
waterproof panniers. Other special equipment is also available.

Launched at all BMW dealerships on Saturday, March 12 the R1200 ST is priced
from £9,060 on the road. It is available to customers in three distinctive
body colours - Sydney Blue Metallic, Piemont Red Metallic and Granite Grey
Metallic.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
