The BMW association with quality, innovation and prestige has again been
recognised by a major British bank. The benchmark setting R1200 RT - the
company's new generation, long distance touring machine - is to appear in a
national Lloyds TSB television commercial.

A few days before the RT made its first public appearance at BMW Motorrad
dealerships, the agile tourer was quickly booked to appear alongside the famous
black horse in a new mortgage advertisement for Lloyds TSB.

The 30-second commercial portrays a man in his early thirties leaving work in
the city on his BMW R1200 RT. The camera follows him as he rides along
picturesque and remote country roads before arriving at an inspirational new
home. The filming of the commercial was divided between Devon and central
London and the diversity of the two locations perfectly captures the RT's
touring capabilities.

Lloyds TSB Brand Communications Manager, Eithne Anderson explained: "The
Lloyds TSB 'You First' campaign explains ways in which the bank delivers a
personal and modern experience to its customers. To that end, a top of the
range BMW motorbike was considered an excellent brand fit."

As the successor of the hugely popular R1150 RT, and following universal
acclaim by the media as the most accomplished touring machine available, BMW's
new R1200 RT quickly became a sales success after it was launched in early
March.

BMW Motorrad UK's Marketing Manager, Tony Jakeman, said: "It's great for a BMW
motorcycle to feature in the latest TV commercial for such a well-known
blue-chip company. Last year, our award-winning R1200 GS adventure sport
machine was the star in another advertisement for one of the major high street
banks, so clearly there is an association between BMW ownership and a truly
aspirational lifestyle."

In addition to riding an R1200 RT, the rider in the Lloyds TSB commercial is
wearing a selection of clothing from the 2005 Rider Equipment collection. This
includes a BMW SportIntegral helmet and Contour Plus boots.

The new Lloyds TSB commercial will be on television screens for the next six
weeks.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
