BMW (GB) has expanded and restructured its corporate sales team in its bid to
further increase sales in the sector.
The most significant change sees the recruitment of two new corporate sales
regional managers - Andrew Wady and Jonathan Billin - doubling the number of
corporate sales regional managers to give increased national coverage.
The developments are in response to feedback from fleet decision-makers who
said they wanted to discuss key industry issues face-to-face with BMW (GB)
corporate staff.
The 11-strong corporate team is headed by Bernard Bradley, general manager -
corporate sales, who joined the company six months ago.
He said: 'We have changed our focus and the main development has been to put in
place a customer-facing team of regional sales managers. They have been
charged with building our relationship with our key corporate accounts and
locating new corporate customers who are not currently purchasing BMW product.
'The strength of our relations through our dealer network with corporate
customers has been invaluable and that will continue to be a key part of our
strategy going forward. However, the corporate department changes supplements
that relationship and adds a new dimension.
'We are anticipating further rises in corporate sales and we will continue to
look at the department's structure and, if necessary, further increase
resources.'
The corporate sales team:
Andrew Wady - corporate sales regional manager for the South East excluding
London - has joined from Ford where he worked for almost three years initially
as a retail regional business development manager before becoming a corporate
account manager responsible for several of the large rental company accounts
including National Car Rental, Sixt Kenning and Thrifty.
Martin Sloan - corporate sales regional manager for Scotland, Northern Ireland
and the North of England. Following a decade at Land Rover where he worked in a
variety of marketing and corporate sales roles he joined BMW (GB) in May 1999.
Since then he has developed a self-sufficient and pro-active corporate sales
force within BMW's dealer network in Scotland, Northern Ireland and North of
England regions, and has now joined the head office corporate team turning the
focus on forging and strengthening relationships between BMW and its corporate
customer base in that same geographical territory.
Jonathan Billin - corporate sales regional manager for the Midlands and the
South West - has joined BMW (GB) from contract hire and leasing company
LeasePlan UK where he spent four years as an account manager responsible for
maintaining relationships and developing business within the company's existing
major accounts.
Fen Butler - corporate sales regional manager for London - has held the post of
corporate sales manager since October 2000 and in January took on
responsibility for the London territory. Before joining the corporate sales
team, she spent more than three years working as a business development manger,
responsible for signing new business with corporate accounts, with Alphabet
(GB) Ltd, the BMW Group's multi marque contract hire and leasing operation in
Hook.
Richard Webb - contract hire and leasing manager - is the main point of contact
for the major contract hire and leasing companies in the UK. He has been
employed by BMW for 13 years and held many positions in areas such as
e-commerce, sales and marketing.
Tim Goss - authorities manager with responsibility for all fleet sales and
related issues with police, fire and Government departments - has more than 30
years motor industry experience and joined BMW (GB) Ltd from Rover Cars in
1989. During his career with the German marque he has held a variety of posts,
chiefly in the corporate arena, including regional corporate sales manager
2001-02, contract hire and leasing manager 1998-2000 and corporate aftersales
manager 1995-98.
Amanda Hook-Brown - key accounts manager - has been in the post for a year and
is tasked to prospect, maintain and develop business with predefined key UK
customers who have a premium fleet potential of more than 200 units per annum.
The role also includes prospecting, implementing and maintaining preferred
supplier status with key international customers in conjunction with the
international corporate sales team. Before joining BMW (GB) she spent four
years with Alphabet as business development manager and before that seven years
with Hertz Leasing.
The team is supported by corporate marketing manager Chris Brownridge,
corporate logistics administrator Lynda Shoobridge and corporate sales
assistant Garth Gamester.
