BMW launches limited edition R1100 S BoxerCup replica

The BMW R1100 S is much more than the sum of its parts. It is a sports motorcycle that dares to be different. It has that indefinable something - "something" that has attracted the world's most respected riders and "something" that inspired the popular and spectacular International BoxerCup race series.

The BMW R1100 S is much more than the sum of its parts. It is a sports
motorcycle that dares to be different. It has that indefinable something -
"something" that has attracted the world's most respected riders and
"something" that inspired the popular and spectacular International BoxerCup
race series.

BMW is proud to launch a limited edition R1100 S that mirrors the race bikes
campaigned by Team BMW Motorrad GB in this year's International BoxerCup
series. A limited production run of just 25 machines will be available to
customers, making this an exclusive BMW to own and ride - on the road or the
race track.

Created as a UK-only limited edition, the BoxerCup replica is based on the
series production R1100 S Sport - the most powerful and lightest boxer-engine
motorcycle ever produced by BMW - and then modified by BMW in the UK. A
numbered, stainless steel top-yoke badge will identify each machine.

In addition to its high "Sport" specification that already includes a 5.5-inch
rear rim, underseat exhaust system, carbon front fender, steering damper and
stiffer sports suspension, the limited edition machines will feature a black
engine and transmission, heated grips and a road-going BoxerCup Motorspoiler.
The paintwork will recreate the Team BMW Motorrad GB racing colours of alpine
white and red with blue wheel rims. Finally, the belly pan finished with Union
flags adds a neat patriotic touch.

The bikes will be supplied with additional equipment to ensure that they look
identical to the Team BMW Motorrad GB racing bikes of Brian Morrison, Gus Scott
and Richard Cooper. This includes a Laser Inox stainless steel E4 approved
silencer, Y-piece collector, ECU (electronic control unit) and a dedicated set
of Goodridge stainless brake lines.

At the bike's first service (600 miles) the supplementary exhaust, ECU and
brake lines will be fitted free of charge by the supplying BMW dealer. The
limited edition R1100 S BoxerCup replica costs just £9,500 on the road and will
be available to order from selected dealers only, with delivery expected in
August.

Equally important are the insurance premium arrangements. BMW's own approved
insurer, Devitt DA, has classified the BoxerCup replica in the same grouping as
the standard R1100 S and R1100 S (Sport) models.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
