BMW's top of the range 760i and 760Li will go on sale in the UK from January
2003. Featuring BMW's new and exclusive 12 cylinder VALVETRONIC engine, the
760i and 760Li will deliver unparalled performance and superb smoothness in
equal measure. The 760i will be priced at £76,350 and the 760Li at £78,450.
The 760i and 760Li are distinguished from other models in the range by a
discreet V12 logo on the front wheel arches, unique chrome kidney grill, new
wheel design, and B pillars and exterior mirror stems finished in hi-gloss
black.
The interior has been made even more luxurious with the centre console, doors
and dashboard all trimmed in Nasca leather. The dashboard also receives inlaid
burr walnut trim. Alcantara roof lining has been added, as well as an
illuminated V12 sill plate. However, the most significant difference is found
under the bonnet.
Excellent performance (445bhp and 600Nm of torque) has been balanced with
extremely low fuel consumption and emission levels for a car of this class. BMW
has achieved this by fusing its state of the art VALVETRONIC technology with a
direct fuel injection system - this combination is in itself a world first. The
benefit of this development is more efficient fuel burn and lower CO2
emissions.
Like all 7 Series models, the BMW 760i and 760Li are characterised by superior
driving dynamics, refinement and comfort. Fitted as standard in the UK will be
Electronic Damper Control (EDC-K), self-levelling suspension and Dynamic Drive,
the system that reliably limits body roll when cornering.
Jim O'Donnell, Managing Director of BMW Great Britain said, "We believe that
the 760i and 760Li will redefine the niche V12 market segment. There is not a
car that can match BMW's combination of comfort, dynamic ability and all round
efficiency."
Additional performance figures and full UK specification will be announced
closer to launch.
