There will be plenty happening on the BMW Motorrad stand at this weekend's BMF
Show at the East of England Showground in Peterborough.

Visitors to Europe's largest outdoor motorcycle show will be able to meet the
20-year-old winner of the recent BoxerCup race at Oulton Park, Richard Cooper,
along with fellow BMW Motorrad Team Great Britain riders Barry Burrell and Matt
Layt, who are all contesting the International BMW Motorrad BoxerCup 2003
series.

World record holders, Kevin and Julia Sanders will also be present at the BMW
Motorrad stand, which is located behind the grandstand, next to the main arena.
Last year, the couple broke the Guinness world record for the fastest
circumnavigation of the world by motorcycle, riding a R1150 GS. They covered
19,490 miles and visited 12 countries and four continents in just 19 days and
eight-and-a-half hours. That's twelve-and-a-half days faster than the previous
record holder.

Now the pair are hoping to break another world record - to ride the length of
North and South America in the fastest time, starting at Prudhoe Bay in Alaska
and finishing in Ushuaia in Argentina. The current record stands at 47 days and
12 hours. The Sanders will start and complete their Trans American Motorcycle
Ride in August and in total, they will cover over 15,200 miles.

BMW Motorrad GB is supplying Kevin and Julia Sanders with a BMW R1150 GS
Adventure and Rider Clothing for the trip. Balderston Motorcycles is also
sponsoring the couple.

Metropolitan Police motorcyclist Jeff Birbeck will start a sponsored ride in
aid of the Isabel Hospice from the BMW stand at 3pm on Sunday. Jeff will be
visiting all 162 dedicated hospices in England, Scotland and Wales between 19
and 28 May on his R1150 GS Adventure, with the aim of raising money for the
Isabel Hospice in Welwyn Garden City. The charity helps people live with cancer.

Visitors to the show will be able to see all the latest BMW bikes on display
including the limited-edition 80th Anniversary R1150 R Rockster and R1100 S
BoxerCup replica. Two Grinnall trikes will also be on display.

BMW Motorrad will be hosting a World of BMW hospitality area for members at the
show. Instructors from the BMW Off-Road Skills team and the World of BMW will
also be on hand.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
