BMW quality luggage for everyone

Perhaps more than any other manufacturer BMW supports its customers by making
available anything they might conceivably want for their motorcycle, or
themselves. Unfortunately, owners of other machines have previously had only
limited access to BMW's collection of accessories and clothing. In particular
though, it is the comprehensive range of hard and soft luggage that many
motorcyclist would like to see made available to them.

Now, an extensive collection of high quality 'mobile' soft luggage has been
launched by the German manufacturer that is not bike-specific. This includes
such indispensable items for sports bike riders as rucksacks, luggage rolls and
travel bags (tail packs). The collection, as you would expect from BMW is
extensive, but here are brief descriptions of some of the essential items
available.

The Function rucksack is expandable and has a capacity of either 22 or 33
litres. The expansion system will accommodate a helmet, via the zipped
expansion compartment, and enough clothing etc. for a long weekend. The
Function is waterproof with impact-protected inner bag, fully adjustable, has a
carrying handle, and an active breathing back area (which is also comfort
padded). The RRP is £85.

The High-Speed rucksack looks like something from the Star Trek collection but
that's because it has been designed for what its name implies. It has nine
litres of storage space; is waterproof; features a pocket for back protector,
hip and chest belt; and a frame and cover ergonomically designed to eliminate
slipping and flapping. Ideal for hard-charging sports bike riders, the
High-Speed rucksack retails at £60.

The R1200 CL rucksack obviously matches BMW's cruiser/tourer but is suitable
for any rider that approves of the black and light-gold colour scheme.
Measuring 52 x 38 x 29cm, the 'CL' rucksack has a capacity of 42 litres and
features additional back padding (compared with the Function) which makes it
safe enough and big enough to carry a laptop computer. Its other construction
features are similar to the Function rucksack. The RRP is £70.

The Luggage roll is a high quality, capacious variation of an all-time
favourite, luggage all-rounder. The coated material with sealed seams makes the
roll waterproof - of course - and it even has a waterproof zip. But the
outstanding reason that touring riders will find for owning one is the generous
53 litres of storage space. The Luggage roll has a RRP of £70.

The Travel Bag is BMW's equivalent of the indispensable tail pack. This version
is completely waterproof, has excellent edge protection, a separate side
compartment, a shoulder strap and removable key fob. The extra-large inner
compartment opens wide for easy packing and can safely store up to 70 litres of
luggage. The Travel Bag's RRP is £70.

The Travel Bag XL is the ultimate item of 'mobile' luggage for terminally
addicted, long distance touring riders. It has an astonishing 90 litres of
storage space and could actually contain a small kitchen sink! The trolley
frame is fitted with a handle and rollers, and also features a removable key
bag and stiffening rails. The bag can be secured by means of a combination lock
and the important statistic is its size - 35 x 35 x 80cm. The Travel Bag XL
retails at £110.
