Two of BMW Motorrad's most powerful sports bikes can now be enhanced even
further with the addition of a new sports silencer. The Laser exhaust silencer
has been specially developed for the four-cylinder K1200 S and K1200 R models
and is available for purchase from BMW dealers now for £495 including VAT.

The titanium and stainless steel silencer has been designed to fit both bikes
perfectly and is easily installed. There is no need to replace the original
headers as the part can be attached to the existing system. The Laser silencer
weighs just 3.5kg - an impressive 4kg less than the standard exhaust pipe.

The visual effect and re-tuned engine acoustics are striking. The Laser sports
silencer also offers maximum ground clearance, therefore helping make the
MCN-Award winning K1200 S and the K1200 R roadster - currently the most
powerful naked production bike in the world - all the more impressive.

The introduction of the Laser silencer is part of BMW Motorrad's sportier
focus. It comes hot on the heels of the launch of the Akrapovic sports
silencer, which is designed to fit the BMW R1200 GS and R1200 GS Adventure
models. The Akrapovic version was launched earlier this year to personalise the
appearance and sound of the two boxer-engined Adventure Sport bikes.

The Akrapovic model (also £495 including VAT) is constructed completely from
titanium, which includes the outer can, connecting tube and internal
components. The entire unit weighs just 2.2 kg - 3.6 kg less than the standard
part. The mounting bracket ensures a simple installation so it is quick and
easy for any rider to modify their GS model.

Both the Laser and Akrapovic models retain the catalytic converter and the
silencer inserts can also be removed for racing purposes. They are available
now from all BMW Motorrad dealerships nationwide.

Riders interested in the silencers or in any of the models in the BMW range can
call BMW's information line on 0800 777 155 or visit www.bmw-motorrad.co.uk to
locate their nearest dealer.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
