Details have just been announced of the World of BMW's latest off-road tour and
for those with an adventurous streak, it could be the perfect autumn getaway.

The week long trip through northern Spain and southern France takes in some of
the most fantastic off-road trails in Europe and is a rare opportunity for the
tour group to experience the usually out of bounds terrain that makes this area
so exciting.

However, it's not just the enthralling route that makes this off-road tour so
special, the tour will be run to the highest standards by a specially qualified
guide. In order to ensure the smoothest possible running of the tour, adventure
motorcyclist Chris Evans has been brought in to organise it. Chris has been the
UK Dakar Rally coordinator for ten years now and has been taking off-road tours
to France for 17 years.

If that's not enough, there are further Dakar aspects to this tour. BMW
Off-Road Skills Chief Instructor and Dakar Rally Race veteran Simon Pavey will
be joining the tour. Simon has now competed in the Dakar Rally six times and is
a hugely experienced off-road rider.

The route for the seven-day trip has been established by David Castera. David
is the man responsible for setting the Dakar Rally route the past two years and
he has been able to organise access to many routes that are normally out of
bounds to the public. This unique tour could be your only chance to ride these
trails.

The tour departs from Plymouth on 18 October and after an overnight ferry to
Santander the adventure really begins. The next five days will be spent
exploring some fantastic off-road trails through Spain and France including the
Bardenas desert, the Pyrenees and the Pays Basque region of France before the
return sailing from Santander.

This amazing adventure is open to anyone who has completed at least the Level
One World of BMW Off-Road Skills course and because of the nature of the
terrain is only available to riders of BMW's GS range of motorcycles or other
large trail bikes. These must be fitted with tyres suitable for both off-road
and tarmac riding.

The BMW Dakar off-road ride through Spain and France costs £850 per person, and
the price includes ferries, half-board accommodation in Paradors, a back-up
vehicle and a guide. To book or for further details, please call 08000 131 282.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
