Fans of the legendary Dakar Rally can get a sneak preview of the forthcoming
Race to Dakar television series thanks to a special event at Vue cinemas
nationwide. The Adventure Film Festival will take place from 11-23 September
and will include screenings from some of the world's top adventure film
producers.

One of the highlights of the festival will be a 20-minute preview of Race to
Dakar - the television series that documents the trials and tribulations of the
BMW Motorrad 2006 Race to Dakar team.

Each night of the five-day event is dedicated to a different category of
adventure film - Endurance, Storm Force, Ocean, High Altitude and On the Edge.
The special Race to Dakar preview will be shown as part of the Endurance
Adventure night on 11 September. It will be billed along with a 45-minute
version of the incredibly popular Long Way Round series that featured Ewan
McGregor and Charley Boorman's global odyssey on their BMW R1150 GS Adventures.

Race to Dakar is an account of the extraordinary journey of Charley Boorman,
who competed in the 2006 Euromilhões Lisbon to Dakar Rally. Charley was one of
three riders in the BMW Race to Dakar team, which also included accomplished
off-road rider Matt Hall and Dakar veteran Simon Pavey. The rally is arguably
one of the toughest sporting events in the world and this unique film follows
Dakar rookie Charley and his team-mates through the entire experience. This
includes the physical and mental training, preparation of the BMW F650 GS Dakar
bikes, practice races, team logistics and, of course, the rally itself. Race to
Dakar is an awe-inspiring film that offers an insight into the drama,
determination, camaraderie, passion and spirit involved in the legendary Dakar
Rally.

Eighteen cinemas across the national Vue network will be hosting the full
five-day Nissan Adventure Film Festival schedule, which includes the Race to
Dakar preview. Thirty-six cinemas will run a one-night schedule called Ultimate
Adventures, which will include only Long Way Round, chronicling Charley and
Ewan's round-the-world trip on BMW R1150 GS Adventure motorbikes. All the films
will be shown using high-quality digital projection for the best possible
viewing experience.

Following the preview at the film festival, the full Race to Dakar TV series
will be airing on Sky Two from mid-October. A Race to Dakar book will be
released by Time Warner on 21 September.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
