Improving the look and performance of a successful product range isn't easy,
but BMW Motorrad has done just that with two new pairs of gloves in its 2006
BMW Rider Equipment Collection. The Atlantis 2 and Rallye 2 gloves are based on
the original Atlantis and Rallye models but the latest versions include new and
improved design features.

The Atlantis 2 is designed as a touring glove and is constructed from Velours
suede and high-quality leather. The updated model features new GORE-TEX®
Xtra-Fit technology, which ensures a perfect fit with no 'wrinkling'. The inner
membrane is attached to the leather outer layer, which stops the lining moving
around or pulling out altogether when the gloves are wet from rain or
perspiration.

The Atlantis 2 glove is wind and waterproof and is highly breathable due to the
GORE-TEX® Xtra-Fit membrane. The lightweight functional fleece inner acts to
keep the hands warm in cold temperatures and cool in warmer weather.
Perspiration is allowed to evaporate thus reducing the clammy feeling often
experienced with inferior motorcycle gloves. As with all BMW Rider Equipment,
the Atlantis 2 also offers high levels of protection, including double leather
layers backed with Keprotec®. In short, these gloves are the perfect touring
companion and even come complete with a wiper lip on the left index finger to
help quickly clear a visor during inclement weather.

For the more adventure-sport orientated rider, BMW Motorrad has introduced the
Rallye 2 glove, designed specifically for off-road riding. Constructed from a
mix of textile and top-quality kangaroo hide with double layers of
high-strength Pittards leather, the Rallye 2 glove offers a high level of
protection. There is ventilated hard-shell knuckle protection, while the
fingertips and back of the hand areas are covered by plastic and rubber for
extra protection.

The elasticised textile material is ventilated for extra comfort and the new
feature of an adjustable Velcro-fastening at the wrist ensures a perfect fit.
The design of the Rallye 2 glove has been tailored to suit the BMW GS or HP2
Enduro rider and sits perfectly with the all-new Rallye 2 Pro suit and Rallye
GS2 boots. The glove is also unlined for direct grip when riding off-road.

Both designs are available now in BMW Motorrad dealerships nationwide. The
Rallye 2 glove is priced at £50 and comes in a grey and black design with red
and blue contrasting sections. The Atlantis 2 gloves retails at £85 and is
available in an anthracite colour scheme to match the original Atlantis suit.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
