Riders of BMW Motorrad's best selling super sports twin, the R 1200 S, will
know that the bike's sporting credentials are complemented by its ability to
travel long distances. With this in mind, a flexible storage solution is an
absolute must. That's why, due to popular customer demand, the Motorcycle
Equipment team at BMW has now made their already-popular Sports Cases available
for the R 1200 S.

The Sports Cases' unrivalled look and style mirrors the dynamic design of the R
1200 S. Its attractive silver coloured fabric is reinforced by a sturdy steel
backing, which give the cases a soft look, while retaining the security
associated with hard panniers.

The cases, which are unmatched in their ability to increase capacity from 17 to
25 litres, are designed in-house by BMW Motorrad. Such flexibility is made
possible by a unique ratchet system that allows the outer lid of the case to
stretch from fully closed to a semi-open position while still remaining
completely secure and water tight courtesy of an integral lining.

The panniers can be easily removed with the bike's own ignition key and the
locks of the cases can be coded to match the motorcycle's existing key.
The advanced design of the fitting kit also means the bike's dynamic lines are
not weakened when the cases are removed. This is due to the simple, unobtrusive
pannier mount design.

For added convenience, the panniers come complete with inner bags, making it
even easier to transport luggage without having to remove the cases. These bags
are also expandable, enabling the rider to make use of every spare inch of
pannier space on the R 1200 S.

The cases are now available at BMW Motorrad dealerships throughout the UK,
costing £178 each, with the fitting rails and lock available at an additional
£175.25.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
