Plans for BMW Motorrad's New Season Launch, taking place at dealerships
throughout the UK on Saturday 10 March*, were finalised today after the iconic
motorcycle brand announced the unveiling of the new K 1200 R Sport.

It will be the much-anticipated first appearance in dealer showrooms of the
latest addition to BMW's most powerful range of bikes, the K Series.

The K 1200 R Sport is the fourth variant in the popular K Series and is based
on the radically-styled 163 hp K 1200 R naked roadster, offering a combination
of riding qualities and sportiness that are evident through its impressive
suspension and running gear.

Motorcycle News Senior Road Tester, Michael Neeves, called the new bike a
'revelation' in a recent road test, adding 'the Sport is a big surprise. It
mixes practicality and usability with genuine fun and excitement'.

The bike's new half-fairing is particularly striking. Integrated into the
overall design, it emphasises the sporting character of the bike, while the
front fairing offers significantly improved wind and weather protection from
its sister model, the K 1200 R, without compromising on its enviable good looks.

Customers are encouraged to contact their local dealership if they wish to take
up the excellent opportunity to test ride the newest member of the Series.

Tony Jakeman, Marketing Manager for BMW Motorrad UK, commented, "All of our
dealerships are looking forward to this year's New Season Launch on Saturday 10
March. It's a great opportunity for customers to see the new range of models,
rider equipment and accessories, but it's also a day when dealerships organise
their own special events, so it always attracts a good crowd.

"The opportunity for customers to see the new K 1200 R Sport in dealerships is
a major draw and, as previously announced, the new range of G Series bikes -
the Xchallenge, Xmoto and Xcountry - will also be in showrooms for the very
first time. Customers will be able to book test rides on all the new machines,
and there will even be a chance for one lucky visitor to a BMW Motorrad
dealership between 10 and 31 March to win a G Series bike of their choice in a
free prize draw."

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
