More spice for 5 Series :

BMW has announced this month the launch of a full range of 5 Series Sport
Touring models. Available now, the 5 Series Sport Touring specification levels
are based on the SE equivalent of each model with the following additional
equipment:

· Sports seats
· De-chroming
· Sports suspension settings with self-levelling
· Anthracite headlining
· M Aerodynamic body styling
· Matt aluminium trim
· M Sports multi-function leather steering wheel
· Door sills with M badge
· M Light Alloy Wheels
· Black rubbing strips
· M flat weave cloth /Anthracite Alcantara

These extra features would normally cost £3975 if added as options to the
standard models. However, the price premium for these new models is just
£2604, a 45% cost saving.

Prices of all the new Sport models can be found in the enclosed new price list,
which also includes some minor price alterations reflecting the new CO2 VED
changes introduced in March 2001.

BMW ISOFIX child seat :

This spring BMW will be expanding its range of child seats to include its first
ISOFIX seats. The range offers seats suitable for newborn babies through to
seven year-olds. Statistics show that approximately 50 per cent of all child
seats are fitted incorrectly, largely due to complicated fitting mechanisms.

This undoubtedly contributes to the hundreds of deaths and injuries of children
involved in accidents each year in Britain.

The ISOFIX system features special mounting points, for the sole purpose of
attaching child seats. This makes it impossible to fit a seat incorrectly.
Telescopic bars on the BMW seat fit into the seatbelt fastening points ensuring
installation directly to the body of the car.

The first BMW Baby Seat with ISOFIX technology is available for the 0+ age
group. This backward facing seat with an integrated belt system is suitable
for infants up to 13 kg (approx 18 months). The forward facing BMW Junior Seat
I-II ISOFIX System is for children from 9-25 kg (9 months - 7 years approx).

ISOFIX mounting points are already fitted as standard on the BMW 3 Series and
BMW X5 and are available as an option on various other models. The system can
also be retrofitted to some earlier models. Pictures of the BMW ISOFIX child

Beating the rush with BMW and Trafficmaster :

All customers who choose BMW's Communication Pack as an option on their new car
will receive complimentary membership of www.BMW.trafficmaster.net. This
allows BMW customers to check the traffic conditions online before leaving home
or the office. Membership to the service is free for a 12 month period which
is then renewable with Trafficmaster.

The groaning shelves of BMW's awards cupboard have had to be reinforced
recently to accommodate the ten new trophies awarded over the past two months.
Particularly strong has been the 5 Series, collecting five awards including two
for the 530d as best diesel car. Also winning special praise have been the X5,
Z3 and the 3 Series range.
