BMW makes diesel even more attractive

Following the success of the BMW Concours programme on the new 7 Series and the
MINI tlc service packages, BMW Great Britain is launching a free Service and
Maintenance package on all new 3 and 5 Series diesels bought in the first six
months of 2003. The pack offers three years or 60,000 miles servicing and
maintenance - the equivalent of up to £3,000 of customer benefit - and includes:

· Oil services
· Inspection services
· Brake pad and discs
· Brake fluid
· Wiper blades
· All labour charges

Linked to the already comprehensive BMW warranty (3 years unlimited mileage),
this effectively eliminates all maintenance costs and is transferable if the
vehicle is sold.

BMW Great Britain's Managing Director, Jim O'Donnell said: "BMW produces the
finest diesel engines in the world and the rapid growth of the diesel market in
the UK represents a real opportunity for us. The Servicing and Maintenance
package, combined with the enhancements to our diesel range create an
unbeatable proposition."

BMW Great Britain has pioneered service and maintenance packages in recent
years. 95 per cent of 7 Series customers have taken up Concours, the five year
or 75,000 mile package offered since launch for £500. MINI was launched with
tlc, a three year or 60,000-mile servicing package for £100, which currently
achieves a 97 per cent, take up.

Having won numerous accolades, including Best Upper Medium Diesel and Executive
Diesel in Fleet Weeks' 2002 awards, BMW's range of diesel models continues to
lead the way in terms of performance, economy and refinement. The announcement
of the forthcoming 730d and 330 Coupé diesel models that feature the new
uprated 3.0d engine ensures BMW is well placed to capitalise on the rapidly
emerging luxury diesel market.

The new, lighter 3.0d engine offers an extra 20 bhp, increased low-down torque
(max 410 Nm available at 1,500 rpm), improved top speed and 0-62 performance.
Improved fuel consumption makes the package even more unbeatable. The
combustion process and oil filtration systems within the new 3.0-litre engine
have also been refined, resulting in reduced contamination and extended oil
change intervals of over 25,000 miles.

During 2002, BMW Great Britain sold over 21,500 diesel cars, representing 25%
of total sales, compared to 16 per cent in 2001. These figures will be buoyed
in 2003 with the arrival of the dynamic new ES and Sport versions of the 320d
Saloon and Touring, available from January.

In 320d ES Saloon guise, the range of additional standard items over the base
320d models offers great value and an even sportier feel and image. For just
£20,995 (otr), the ES offers £2,390 worth of options as standard over the 320d
(£21,645 otr). ES Touring models feature the same equipment as the Saloons and
are priced at £21,750 (otr).

Sport derivatives have proved popular variants of the 3 Series range during
2002 and the option has now been extended to 320d models. These will feature
the same exceptional interior and exterior specifications as on 330i and 325i
Sport models and are priced at £25,075 (otr) for the Saloon and £25,995 (otr)
for the Touring.
