The Crowne Plaza Hotels BMW M3 DTM race car will be on display for the first time in the UK at The Goodwood Motorsport Press Day on 14 March 2012.

Accompanying this spectacular racing car will be BMW Team RBM’s driver, and triple World Touring Car champion, Andy Priaulx (GB) who will contest the DTM season - one of the world’s most exciting and competitive touring car championships – in 2012. The BMW M3 DTM will herald the return of BMW to the DTM race series after an absence of nearly 20 years. The season gets underway in Hockenheim on 29 April and will make its only UK appearance at Brands Hatch on 20 May.

The press day at Goodwood will also provide the stage to help mark the 40th anniversary of BMW’s high-performance M division and for BMW to run two potent examples of the brand up the famous 1.16 mile hill. The first is an E30 M3 Roberto Ravaglia, one of 25 UK-supplied limited edition cars that were built to celebrate BMW’s success in Touring cars. The second is the world’s most successful performance saloon, the new BMW M5 Saloon.

Celebrations will continue this summer at The Goodwood Festival of Speed, 28 June -1 July, 2012, when the Bavarian manufacturer will showcase its newest M cars in the BMW pavilion along with a selection of some its famous racing cars.

Representing BMW Group UK at the Goodwood Motorsport Press Day will be Martin Harrison, Media Relations Officer, on 07525 977083, who will be available at the event to answer media enquiries.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
