• Range of function, model and My BMW App updates
• Triple win for BMW at CCT100 Awards
• Double success for electrified BMW models iX3 and 530e at Company Car and Van Awards.

A number of new model updates across the BMW range and enhancements to the My BMW App have been announced. Enhancements for 2022 include new exterior colours, leather upholsteries, styling packs and a new M anniversary emblem.

Following the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé launch last year, a new selection of optional equipment has been revealed. For M440i xDrive customers, a new M Carbon Exterior Styling Pack and Individual Frozen Pure Grey are now available, along with BMW Individual Merino Leather for both M Sport Pro Edition and M440i xDrive customers.

New exterior colours and leather upholstery choices have been revealed for BMW i4 and BMW iX models. Customers choosing the BMW i4 M50 have the option of BMW Individual Frozen Pure Grey and BMW Individual Merino Leather upholstery, while BMW iX customers now have the added choice of Oxide Grey Metallic when selecting their preferred exterior colour.

BMW M5 customers also have additional exterior paint choices, with Sophisto Grey joining the line-up. In addition, a special BMW M 50 year emblem will be available across BMW M High-Performance and BMW M Performance Models, to celebrate the 50-year milestone the brand is achieving in 2022.

Triple win for BMW at CCT100 Awards.

BMW has once again been recognised at the annual CCT100 Awards, with the 1 Series, 3 Series and 5 Series coming out on top of the Premium Lower Medium, Compact Executive and Executive categories. Making these awards even more special, each of these categories are retained awards that BMW won previously in 2021.

Category winners are chosen from CCT100, Company Car Today’s rundown of the 100 vehicles to meet all fleet requirements. The final shortlist is decided using 13 criteria, covering a combination of running costs, efficiency, practicality, breadth of range, performance and car park appeal, with the input of the CCT judging panel that has decades of fleet industry experience.

“BMW’s quality in core company car sectors always sees it perform strongly in the CCT100 Awards, and this year is no exception, with the brand the only one to collect three awards,” said Company Car Today Editor Paul Barker.

“The 5-Series in particular has dominated its Executive class for five years now, while the 3-Series celebrates a hat-trick in the Compact Executive segment and the 1-Series retains the Premium Lower Medium title to complete a trio of class-leading models. All three are well-established as excellent company car choices that meet the needs of drivers and businesses.”

Double success for electrified BMW models at Company Car and Van Awards.

Adding further trophies to the cabinet, two BMW models were recognised at the Company Car and Van Awards, with the BMW iX3 and BMW 530e taking home Premium Electric Car of the Year 2022 and Large Plug-In Car of the Year 2022 respectively.

Launched in the UK in summer 2021 with an electric range of up to 285 miles, the iX3 was the first fully electric-powered BMW X model, combining emissions-free travel, dynamic handling and performance with the comfort, functionality and spaciousness that customers would expect of a BMW SAV.

Commenting on the win, Andrew Walker, Editor at Company Car and Van, said “An electric SUV that drives as well as a conventional BMW SUV. That would be the BMW iX3, our Premium Electric Car of the Year 2022. It's brilliantly built, comes with a 250+ mile range & offers just 1% BIK. Where other premium EV’s ride quality suffers from the extra battery weight, the iX3 makes an excellent fist of making you forget the battery is even there. The power on offer & the torque only add to the fun factor. Our favourite electric SUV”.

530e won BMW's second prize of the evening after it was awarded the title of Large Plug-In Car of the Year 2022. Judges praised the model for its ‘excellent cabin, on-trend tech and space for five’.

“Plug-In's don't get much better than the BMW 530e, our Large Plug-In Car of the Year 2022. BMW have managed to produce a great driving, tax-breaking executive saloon, that offers business users significant BIK savings, coupled to an electric range of 41 miles. Factor in BMW's excellent cabin, on-trend tech, plenty of creature comforts & space for five & it has to be the large executive PHEV of choice for fleet users” said Walker.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
