Summer 2026 is set to bring new standard and optional equipment, alongside innovations in digitalisation and powertrain technology, that will make the current BMW model range even more attractive. A new Black Edition is introduced for BMW M340i xDrive and M440i xDrive derivatives. BMW iX3 customers will soon be able to specify optional heated rear seats and select from nine additional exterior paint colours. BMW M Ignite technology brings a significant reduction in fuel consumption under high loads for all BMW M six-cylinder engines. From July 2026 convenient routines can be created via the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant to assist everyday driving.

New Black Edition available for BMW M340i xDrive and M440i xDrive derivatives.
The new Black Edition makes the M Performance models of the BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé look even more dynamic, and will be available in conjunction with the M Sport package Pro, which includes M Sport brakes in red.

Inside the cabin, the Black Edition adds striking accents with motorsport-inspired carbon fibre details. In addition to the Carbon Fibre M interior trim, customers benefit from an M leather steering wheel with carbon decorative trim. For the exterior, the Black Edition includes exclusive model badges in black on the rear and sides, as well as black 19" M light alloy wheels. The BMW M340i xDrive Saloon and the BMW M340i xDrive Touring come with 995 M 19" M light alloy wheels finished in Jet Black with mixed tyres. Additional M light alloy wheel designs and sport tyres are also available optionally.

The BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé features an additional black model badge in the BMW kidney grille and 861 M 19" M light-alloy wheels in Jet Black with mixed tyres.

These BMW M light alloy wheels will now also be available as a separate option for all M Performance models of the BMW 4 Series Coupé, BMW 4 Series Convertible and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé, optionally with sport tyres.

The BMW M340i xDrive Saloon Black Edition is priced from £66,475 OTR, while the Touring derivative starts at £68,315 OTR. Pricing for the BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé Black Edition starts at £68,610 OTR.

New exterior colours and equipment options for the BMW iX3.
From summer 2026, a total of nine BMW Individual exterior paint finishes will be available for the BMW iX3. Customers will be able to specify the following colours: Orinoco, Sepang Bronze, Twilight Purple, Grigio Telesto, Java Green II, Purple Silk Malachite Green, Voodoo Blue and Urban Green. Further new options include 1051 M 21" M Aerodynamic wheels in Jet Black, as well as a Contemporary Agave bicolour interior design. Heated rear seats will also be available in conjunction with the optional Innovation package.

Debut for a patented innovation: BMW M Ignite technology introduced for all BMW M six-cylinder engines.
All BMW M six-cylinder in-line engines will feature the innovative BMW M Ignite technology from summer 2026. This highly efficient new technology consists of a pre-chamber ignition system for petrol engines patented by BMW. Derived from motorsport, it enables a significant reduction in fuel consumption under high loads. In addition, BMW M Ignite technology plays a key role in meeting the stringent requirements of the Euro 7 standard. All variants of the BMW M3 and BMW M4 will come with this new technology from July 2026, with the M2 to follow from August 2026. All models’ displacement and power outputs will remain unchanged.

Quick help when you need it most: Tyre Repair Kit Plus.
The BMW 2 Series Coupé, the BMW 4 Series Coupé and the BMW 4 Series Convertible will come with the Tyre Repair Kit Plus (seal & drive tyre kit) as standard from summer 2026.

A sporty look for car keys.
All BMW X3 models with the M Sport package or M Sport Pro Package will in future feature car keys with BMW M stripes.

BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant: Create and use routines.
From July 2026, BMW Operating System X will offer new options for creating routines. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant analyses daily usage patterns to suggest routines, simplifying tasks in everyday driving. Users can also create their own custom routines by specifying the conditions under which they are to be executed and which actions are to be performed automatically.

CO2 emission information.

The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and energy consumption shown were determined in a standardised test cycle according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version currently applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers transmission (automatic or manual) and the different wheels and tyres available on the selected model and may vary during the configuration.

The values of the vehicles labelled with (*), are already based on the test cycle according to the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to allow a comparison between vehicles. More information on the transition from NEDC to WLTP test procedures can be found here.

These figures are intended for comparison purposes and may not be representative of what a user achieves under usual driving conditions. For plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles the figures have been obtained using a combination of battery power and petrol fuel after the battery had been fully charged. Plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery electric vehicles require mains electricity for charging. The CO2 emissions labels are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the Passenger Car (Fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001, as amended. They are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle.

A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge. For further information you can also visit this link.
