Customer racing: Next tough test for the BMW M4 GT4.

Following a successful test run under race conditions at the 24 Hours of Dubai (UAE), the engineers at BMW Motorsport put the BMW M4 GT4 through another tough test last week. At the wheel of the new GT4 race cars were Jörg Müller, Dirk Adorf and BMW Motorsport Junior Nico Menzel (all GER). The four-day test in Miramas (FRA) saw BMW Motorsport continue its development of the new BMW M4 GT4. The Friday of the test also featured the annual shootout between the potential candidates for the fourth year of the BMW Motorsport Junior programme. The participants for the 2017 season will be decided after an extensive fitness test.

24h Nürburgring: Through the “Green Hell” with Falken Motorsports.

The BMW contingent for the iconic 24-hour race at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (GER) from 27th to 28th May continues to grow: as well as the six works-supported cars to be fielded by ROWE Racing, Schubert Motorsport and BMW Team Schnitzer, the Falken Motorsports will also run a BMW M6 GT3 in the “Green Hell”. Peter Dumbreck (GBR), Alexandre Imperatori (CHE), Marco Seefried (GER) and Stef Dusseldorp (NED) will alternate at the wheel of the car, which will also feature in several VLN races. “We are very happy to be able to welcome a new, and very well-known and renowned team, in the form of Falken Motorsports, who will field a BMW M6 GT3,” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt. “It is becoming very apparent that the BMW M6 GT3 remains very attractive to our customers. The top model in our customer racing range proved its huge potential on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 2016. The Falken team itself was impressed by one of the car’s outings in the VLN. We hope to celebrate plenty of success together in the ‘Green Hell’.”

Blancpain GT Series: BMW works drivers test for ROWE Racing.

The start of the 2017 season of the Blancpain GT Series is just around the corner: the ROWE Racing team will take to the track at the official tests in Le Castellet (FRA) on 13th and 14th March. Three big-name drivers will alternate in the cockpit of the two BMW M6 GT3s. As well as BMW works driver Philipp Eng (AUT), who won the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL) with ROWE Racing in 2016, António Félix da Costa (PRT) will also make his debut for the team. Félix da Costa is already familiar with the BMW M6 GT3 from his guest appearances in the ADAC GT Masters. The third driver in the trio is Markus Palttala (FIN). The team from St. Ingbert (GER) will use the tests to fine-tune the two cars ahead of the season-opener in Misano (ITA) on 2nd April.

Blancpain GT Series Asia: AAI Motorsports lines up with two BMW M6 GT3s.

Two AAI Motorsports BMW M6 GT3s will take their place on the grid at the opening event of the 2017 Blancpain GT Series Asia. The team will enter the fray on 8th/9th April in Sepang (MAS). CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures is also available at www.bmw.de/wltp.

For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and official specific CO2 emissions of new cars, please refer to the “Manual on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new cars”, available at sales outlets free of charge, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
