Paddy Hopkirk made the British small car a motorsport legend with his overall victory in the Monte Carlo Rally 60 years ago - Timo Mäkinen and Rauno Aaltonen repeated the triumph in 1965 and 1967. Successes that shook up the sports establishment and changed and shaped the MINI brand until today.
The lead changed hands more than 40 times as the race went right down to the wire before triggering wild celebrations. BMW Team RLL won the opening round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Daytona (USA) for the second season in a row.
In Sunday’s IMSA Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at ‘Watkins Glen International’ (USA), BMW Team RLL scored a fifth place finish with the #24 BMW M8 GTE of John Edwards (USA) and Jesse Krohn (FIN). The #25 BMW M8 GTE of Tom Blomqvist (GBR) and Connor De Phillippi (USA) was credited with a seventh place finish after retiring from the race on lap 159. The race was won by the #911 Porsche.
BMW Team RLL registered fourth and sixth place finishes in the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio (USA), the fourth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The second round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship concluded the ‘BMW M Motorsport Super Weekend’ at Sebring (USA). Following a second-place finish for BMW Team MTEK in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s (WEC) race on Friday, it was BMW Team RLL’s turn to send two BMW M8 GTE cars into action for the 12-hour endurance classic held at Sebring International Raceway.
At the classic 12 Hours of Sebring (USA), the new BMW M8 GTE celebrated its maiden podium finish. After 328 laps, Alexander Sims (GBR) finished round two of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship second in the GTLM class at the wheel of car number 25. He had shared driving duties with fellow BMW Team RLL drivers Connor De Phillippi and Bill Auberlen (both USA), leading the pack in some phases of the race.

John Edwards (USA) and Martin Tomczyk (GER) raced the number 24 BMW M6 GTLM to a third place finish in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (IWSC) race at Lime Rock Park (USA).

The two new BMW M6 GTLM racing cars will start the 54th annual 24 Hours of Daytona (US), the opening round of the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (IWSC), from the third and sixth positions in the GTLM field.
BMW Team RLL finished fifth and sixth in Sunday’s two-hour-and-forty-minute Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America (US). Bill Auberlen (US) and Dirk Werner (DE) finished fifth in the number 25 BMW Z4 GTLM. John Edwards (US) and Lucas Luhr (DE), driving the number 24 machine, finished one position behind in sixth. The race was won by the number 911 Porsche of Nick Tandy (GB) and Patrick Pilet (FR).
John Edwards (US) and Lucas Luhr (DE) drove the number 24 BMW Z4 GTLM to a second in Sunday’s two-hour-and-forty-minute sixth round of the United SportsCar Championship at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CA). The duo took the chequered flag 15.5 seconds behind the winning Porsche of Nick Tandy (GB) and Patrick Pilet (FR), completing 122 laps of the 2.4-mile, ten-turn classic Canadian circuit during the contest.

Team BMW Motorsport finished third and fourth at the 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps (BE). Dirk Werner (DE), Dirk Müller (DE) and Dirk Adorf (DE) completed 540 laps, covering a distance of almost 3,400 kilometres, before the number 79 BMW M3 GT2 with Werner at the wheel crossed the finish line in third place – first in the GTN class - on Sunday. CO2 emission information.
Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.
All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies.
