Munich. Ultraviolet - the new sci-fi action thriller from director Kurt
Wimmer - is set at the end of the 21st century. Humankind is afflicted
by a vampire-like disease called Hemophagia, which genetically mutates
its victims and turns them into killing machines. The government is
feverishly trying to isolate the mutants, and as a result is driving
the world to the edge of civil war. One infected mutant escapes:
Violet, the strong, beautiful fighter, played by the actress Milla
Jovovich (Resident Evil). She is drawn into the centre of the conflict
when she discovers that the key to destroying the infected people is
concealed in a human bomb: the nine-year-old boy Six. Stunning gun
kata action and breathtaking stunts. As the freedom fighter with martial
arts skills, Milla Jovovich not only has plenty of action scenes but
also performs some breathtaking stunts in the gun kata style. She
enters the battle against evil with her BMW R 1150 R motorcycle which,
with its futuristic design, fits seamlessly into the style of the story,
filmed in Shanghai, China. As in his directorial debut,
"Equilibrium" from the year 2002, the author and director
makes use of ingeniously dramatic colour composition in
"Ultraviolet". Costume designer Joseph Porro ("Shanghai
Noon") gives the beautiful Milla Jovovich a touch of the 1980s
with skin-tight catsuits and a long ponytail hairstyle. The
prize-winning camera man Arthur Wong Ngok from Hong Kong provided the
striking visuals. The science fiction thriller will be appearing in
German cinemas from 6 July onwards. You will find the latest photos
