Dubai, UAE. Arriving in the Middle East in December 2007, the
fourth-generation of the BMW M3 Coupe once again sets new standards in
technology and driving dynamics. In terms of character, power and
functionality this is an absolutely unique high-performance sports car,
which continues to deliver all the qualities required for everyday
driving enjoyment of the highest calibre. Making its debut in the
Middle East, the eight-cylinder power unit with 420 hp, provides more
power, less weight and lower fuel consumption. This brand-new
eight-cylinder power unit in V-arrangement is the truly impressive
"heart" of the new BMW M3 Coupe, and combines outstanding
power and performance with unique dynamism. "With the arrival of
the completely re-engineered new BMW M3 Coupe in the Middle East at the
end of this year, the ultimate driving experience is destined for new
levels," said Phil Horton, Managing Director, BMW Group Middle
East. "Turning powerful passion into supreme performance on the
track, the new BMW M3 Coupe is a stand-out player on the racetrack and
is equally as impressive and comfortable on the road. BMW Group Middle
East achieved record sales across the GCC in 2006, and with the
introduction of incredible models such as the new BMW M3 we are assured
of continued growth in the region." Displacing 3,999 cc, the new
V8 develops maximum output of 309 kW/420 hp. Maximum torque, in turn,
is 400 Newton-metres at an engine speed of 3,900 rpm. And perhaps an
even more impressive fact is that some 85 per cent of this maximum
torque is available consistently throughout the enormous speed range of
6,500 rpm. The new BMW M3 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and
has a top speed limited electronically of 250 km/h. The eight-cylinder
power unit owes its perhaps most striking feature to the high-speed
engine concept again typical of BMW M: Maximum engine speed of 8,400
rpm gives the engine supreme thrust and torque at all times. This power
is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox in
conjunction with brand-new final drive featuring BMW's Variable M
Limited-Slip Differential. Over and above the engine's specific
output of 105 hp per litre, average fuel consumption in the EU test
cycle of just 12.4 litres/100 kilometres bears clear testimony to the
supreme engineering that has gone into this equally supreme car. The
new BMW M3 Coupe also hits a new first with the introduction of a
carbon-fibre roof - it is the first production car in its segment to
feature this new technology. Hardly any other component on the body of
the new BMW M3 expresses the car's cutting-edge technology as clearly -
and, above all, as visibly - as the roof made of
carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFP). As visible proof of this new
technology, the roof stands out intentionally through the fibre
structure of this Formula 1 material, with only a layer of clear paint
covering this high-tech surface. For more than two decades, the BMW M3
has ranked alone as the epitome of ultimate dynamism- a car offering
powerful and superior aesthetics, as well as a truly incomparable
driving experience. The BMW M3 Coupe looks back on a long motorsport
tradition, with an absolutely unique result every time - the new
completely re-engineered BMW M3 Coupe is now raring to go!

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information are available at www.bmw.de/wltp and at www.dat.de/co2/.
