Dubai, UAE. BMW Group Middle East announced the highly-anticipated BMW
M3 Sedan will arrive in the region in April 2008, while attendees at
the 9th International Middle East Motor Show were given a sneak preview
of the M3 Coupé. "With its superior power, performance and
dynamism, the new BMW M3 ensures truly unique sheer driving pleasure of
the highest calibre," said Mr. Phil Horton, Managing Director, BMW
Group Middle East. "The new BMW M3 is destined to take pole
position with aficionados when it arrives in the region. The new, 309
kW/420 hp V8 power unit offers enormous muscle and performance and the
aesthetic design so typical of the BMW M spells out its supremacy on
the racetrack." The new BMW M3 sets the foundation for continuing
an exceptional career in motorsport. Every enthusiast sharing the
passion for supreme performance can rest assured this model is able to
master even the greatest challenge on and off the race track. The
all-new "heart" of the latest BMW M3 is the eight-cylinder
power unit which, through its high-speed engine concept alone, comes
with all the DNA of the current Formula 1 engine raced by the BMW
Sauber F1 Team. Applying this high-speed concept characteristic of all
BMW M power units, the new V8 develops maximum output of 309 kW/420 hp
from engine capacity of precisely 3,999 cc. Further equally impressive
factors are the engine's peak torque of 400 Newton-metres as well as
maximum engine speed of 8, 400 rpm. Truly unprecedented, the thrust and
pulling force generated through this unique potential conveys the
supreme power of the engine through the variable M differential lock to
the rear wheels. Acceleration to 100 km/h comes in just 4.8 seconds,
and the car continues this exceptional performance with fascinating
consistency all the way to its top speed of 250 km/h, where the engine
electronics set an artificial limit to the ongoing power and
performance of the new BMW M3. - Ends - For questions please contact:

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information are available at www.bmw.de/wltp and at www.dat.de/co2/.
