Barenboim, Berlin, BMW Hydrogen 7 - Environmental awareness: the General Music Director of the State Opera Unter den Linden will now be driving on hydrogen power

He was born in Buenos Aires and grew up in Israel. Conductor Daniel Barenboim is the sheer embodiment of versatility. The General Music Director of the State Opera Unter den Linden in Berlin now has one more experience to add: the opportunity to run a car on alternative energy. Barenboim received his personal model of the BMW Hydrogen 7 in Berlin today. The first premium sedan with a hydrogen combustion engine to successfully pass through the serial development process was handed over by Hermann Bohrer, BMW representative and head of the BMW Motorrad plant in Berlin.

Berlin today. The first premium sedan with a hydrogen combustion engine
to successfully pass through the serial development process was handed
over by Hermann Bohrer, BMW representative and head of the BMW Motorrad
plant in Berlin. The handover of the key took place prior to the
premiere of "Don Giovanni" under Barenboim's musical
direction. The conductor stated: "When it comes to the environment
we all share the responsibility - business, politics and society alike.
New, innovative technologies as featured in the BMW Hydrogen 7 are
significant signals. I wish to support this path as much as I can."
After the handover, Hermann Bohrer said: "Daniel Barenboim is an
outstanding personality in the field of classical music and is always
open to innovative projects. We are very pleased that he has opted for
the BMW Hydrogen 7 and is thus prepared to take action today to stand
up for the individual mobility of tomorrow." As a pioneer of
hydrogen technology, the BMW Group has consistently worked to achieve
advancements in this field. The company has dedicated itself
intensively to the issue of sustainable mobility for over two decades.
Initially a series of 100 BMW Hydrogen 7 premium sedans has been
produced. In the long term, petrol is to be replaced by hydrogen as an
