Readers of one of Europe's leading classic car magazines have decided
that two of the most sought-after cars on the road today - the BMW Z8
and the MINI - are set to become timeless classics of the future.
Germany's Motor Klassik magazine asked 10,000 of its readers which cars
have the potential of becoming collectors' items and classics, and
their overwhelming verdict is that the BMW Z8 is the best convertible
car, while the MINI polled the largest amount of votes as the most
desirable car. The poll's focus was on the technology and design of
current production cars, with regard to their timeless values and
beauty. The decisive element was the harmony of the vehicle concepts in
view of their coming status as a classic. The MINI, which is seen as
the future-oriented new version of the original, achieved the best
results with 43.9 per cent of the votes in its section. Celebrating its
first anniversary in the Middle East this month, the MINI is the safest
and most advanced car of its size, with dynamic performance and
handling capabilities. The BMW Z8 sports car took a clear victory in
the convertible category, underlining its reputation as an exceptional
automobile for connoisseurs, created from the passionate dedication of
completely committed engineers and designers. The BMW Group is the
world's only multibrand car manufacturer pursuing a clear-cut premium
brand strategy that includes a portfolio consisting exclusively of
premium marques; from the small car to the luxury segment. The three
authentic brands are: BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce.
