24 Hours of Le Mans: BMW provides the official fleet of cars at the endurance classic.
Next year, BMW will contest the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans (FRA) again for the first time since 2011 – but BMW cars took to the track at the endurance classic on the Sarthe river this year. As partner of the organiser, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), BMW provided the official fleet of cars on the racetrack in Le Mans. So the fleet, headed by the BMW M2 Coupé Safety Car, was in action once again this weekend at the 2017 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The fleet of cars consisted of a total of 26 high-performance cars, from safety cars, medical car and extrication cars, to emergency cars for track officials.

Alongside the DTM, the FIA Formula 3 European Championship also
stopped off at the Hungaroring (HUN) this weekend, and the fourth
weekend of the season could not have gone much better for BMW
Motorsport Junior Joel Eriksson (SWE). After he made it into the top
ten when he finished tenth in the first of three races, the Swede
improved in the other two races, and first crossed the finish line in
second place on Saturday. Then the 18-year-old improved once again in
race three, and celebrated his fourth win of the season. As the leader
of the overall standings, Eriksson will return to action in two weeks,
this time at the Norisring (GER). The FIA Formula 3 European
Championship will hold its 13th to 15th races of
the season as part of the fourth DTM weekend. In addition to his
outings in Formula 3, Eriksson also drove the BMW M4 DTM race taxi on
the Hungaroring.
