Woodcliff Lake, NJ – October 8, 2012… BMW Power successfully finished the 2012 GRAND-AM season and with a third consecutive Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype Driver’s Championship for Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas. BMW also won the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series Sport Tuner Manufacturer title at the GRAND-AM Championship Weekend at Lime Rock Park presented by BMW.

Rolex Sports Car Series
Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates drivers Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas started the 2.75-hour finale race with a 13 point lead, needing only a 10th place finish to secure their third title. They drove a methodical race and finished the No. 01 TELMEX BMW/Riley in seventh place. Pruett and Rojas shared two victories and six additional podium finishes this season.
In the Rolex Grand Touring class BMW was represented this season by two Turner Motorsport BMW M3s. Although both cars failed to finish the race, points scored during the season that included two wins during a nine-race streak in which the No. 94 machine did not finish less than fifth by drivers Bill Auberlen, Paul Dalla Lana and Billy Johnson (as third driver in select races) secured Dalla Lana third place in the final GT driver standings.
Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge
In the 2012 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series BMW drivers took more starts than any other manufacturer participating in North America’s most popular showroom-based road racing series.
This year, three season-long BMW teams, BimmerWorld Racing, Burton Racing and RACE EPIC/Murillo Racing campaigning 3 Series and 1 Series racing cars, combined for three wins and five additional podium finishes giving BMW the Street Tuner (ST) Manufacturer Championship.
The top-finishing BMW in the 2.5-hour Lime Rock Park event was the No. 80 BimmerWorld Racing BMW 328i. James Clay and John Henry Capestro-Dubets finished sixth.
In the Grand Sport (GS) class BMW was represented by season-long teams Fall-Line Motorsports and Turner Motorsport, the 2010 and 2011 GS class champions respectively.
The best finishing BMW in the 2.5-hour final race was the No. 46 Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3 of drivers Mark Boden and Bryan Sellers. Their second place finish at Lime Rock Park equaled the best M3 finish of the season and secured BMW second place in the Manufacturer point standings.
