“Our new Rolls-Royce Dawn promises a striking, seductive encounter like no other Rolls-Royce to date, and begins a new age of open-top, super-luxury motoring. It will be the most social of super-luxury drophead motor cars for those who wish to bathe in the sunlight of the world’s most exclusive social hotspots.”
So said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars during the global debut of the new Rolls-Royce Dawn on the 8 September 2015. Following the debut, a world-wide search for the perfect place to launch the new motor car to global media was initiated. Exactly six months later, starting on 8 March 2016, Dawn will be driven and tested by the world’s top automotive and lifestyle media on the beautiful roads of South Africa’s Western Cape, one of those exclusive enclaves of the world’s wealthy.
The jewel in the crown of this exclusive, world-class enclave is without doubt the Delaire Graff Estate, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ chosen base, nestled amongst the vineyards of the world famous Stellenbosch wine region. Owned by the world’s most famous jeweller, Laurence Graff, the Delaire Graff Estate appeals to the lifestyle of Rolls-Royce clients through its offer of a beautiful location, superb wines and fine dining together with luxury accommodation and beautiful pieces of art and jewellery.
The world’s journalists will experience the incredible scenery of the Western Cape whilst following routes that offer some of the world’s most breath-taking seascapes, mountain passes and wineland meanders.
“The Western Cape with its scenic splendour, excellent roads and sumptuous accommodation provides the perfect backdrop for these world-class journalists to test drive our new Rolls-Royce Dawn, a beautiful new motor car that offers the most uncompromised open-top motoring experience in the world,” comments Richard Carter, Director of Global Communications, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “As a South African myself, I am proud to bring Rolls-Royce, the world’s leading luxury brand, to the country of my birth.”
