WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., SEPTEMBER 23, 1999. BMW Financial Services ranked above
all other financial institutions, both independent and captive, for initial
lease satisfaction in the J.D. Power and Associates 1999 Consumer Financing
Satisfaction Study.
The index measures consumer satisfaction during the beginning stages of the
leasing relationship.
To determine lessee satisfaction, J.D. Power and Associates surveyed consumers
and evaluated initial lending service based on consumer experiences in three
areas:
* The set-up process - how well customers are handled during application
processing;
* The billing process - the accuracy, timeliness and clarity of the billing;
* The perceived value - the extent to which consumers feel that their finance
providers deliver value.
The study also asked consumers to rate their satisfaction with their prior
vehicles' loan or lease provider, examined consumer retention and took into
account the brand image of the auto financier.
