WOODCLIFF LAKE, NEW JERSEY, MAY 3, 2001...BMW's Ultimate Child Safety Seat
Clinic, created in response to alarming NTSB statistics that show 96 percent of
all child care seats are installed incorrectly, will once again travel across
country with the Ultimate Drive for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation. As part of the program, Child Passenger Safety Technicians,
assisted by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)Traffic
Safety committee, provide one-on-one demonstrations to parents on the proper
installation of child safety seats. Technicians then oversee the participants
as they install a seat in their own vehicle - whether or not it is a BMW.

BMW began the program last year, partnering with Britax, the world's largest
safety seat manufacturer, and the IACP Traffic Safety Committee. BMW
incorporated this outreach initiative into its successful, grass-roots program,
The Ultimate Drive For The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The
alliance has proven fruitful for all involved.

breast cancer and driving a message of hope and commitment to people around the

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 1982 by Nancy
Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died from breast
cancer at the age of thirty-six. The Foundation is an international
organization with a network of volunteers working through local affiliates to
eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research,
education, screening and treatment.

The Komen Foundation runs one of the most innovative, responsive grant programs
in breast cancer today, having awarded more than $68 million in research grants
since its inception. In addition to funding research, the foundation and its
Affiliates fund non-duplicative, community-based breast health education and
breast cancer screening and treatment projects for the medically underserved.

Established in North America in 1996, Britax Child Safety, Inc. draws from over
30 years of experience in manufacturing child seats in Europe and Australia.
Britax's commitment to research and development, along with its involvement in
global standardizations, work to elevate safety standards and serve customers
in all markets

The Ultimate Drive, a unique partnership between BMW of North America and the
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, was formed in 1997 to help raise money
for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment. Since its
inception, the Ultimate Drive has raised over $4 million by putting people
behind the wheel of a BMW in over 200 communities across America. For each
mile test-driven, BMW donates $1 to the Komen Foundation. The Ultimate Drive
hopes to raise an additional $1 million this year.
