Munich. The Geneva Classics will be held for the first time this year from 6 -
8 October. And at this important event in the exhibition halls on the banks of
Lac Lemans, BMW Mobile Tradition will be presenting four great stories from the
outstanding tradition of the white-and-blue brand on an impressive 550-square
metre stand.

Uncomprisingly open: almost 8 decades of BMW Roadsters.
Bayerische Motoren Werke have been following a special concept of motoring
which marked the very beginning of the world of the automobile almost eight
decades ago - a concept which to this day remains more significant and popular
than ever before: the Roadster. One of the first Roadsters ever built, the Dixi
3/15 PS Ihle, will therefore be on display at Geneva Classics, just like one of
the most famous Roadsters the world has ever seen, the BMW 328, a racing legend
dating back to the 1930s.

Indeed, the BMW 328 entered the scene like a "big bang" exactly 70 years ago:
"First Race, First Win", those were the newspaper headlines in 1936 after BMW's
great success on Nürburgring marking the beginning of a truly unique racing
career. So BMW's plan to enter the new sports car right from the start in the
prestigious racing category up to two litres worked out perfectly. And the fact
that BMW's driver at the time was Ernst Jakob Henne added yet a further
highlight - after all, Henne was already world-famous in the racing scene, he
was acknowledged as the "fastest man in the world" after his world speed
records on two wheels, and he held the proud title of "The White Phantom".

Apart from the production version of the BMW 328, BMW Mobile Tradition is also
presenting the replica of the BMW 328 Mille Miglia Roadster from the year 1940.

Aesthetic design at its best: BMW Coupés.
A further highlight is the story of BMW Coupés and their tradition of elegance
continued once again in summer 2006 with the presentation of the new BMW 3
Series Coupé. So in this case no less than three exhibits will be on display,
boasting aesthetic design truly breathtaking to this very day: Before the War,
BMW entered the supreme range of luxury performance motoring for the first time
with the elegant BMW 327, an outstanding Sports Coupé trendsetting in many
features and for the first time providing a harmonious blend of the car's
wings, headlights and the engine compartment lid. Even the spare wheel fitted
on the outside of the bootlid was fully covered and the numberplate illuminated
from inside was integrated in the body of the car.

Featuring an 80-horsepower six-cylinder carried over as an option from the BMW
328, this beautiful Coupé was acknowledged as the "Master of the Autobahn".
"To look great and really be great" - this was once again the claim and
commitment of the BMW 503 introduced in the 1950s. Truly perfect in its looks
and design, the BMW 503 came with the world's first series-production
lightweight eight-cylinder. "Not a show-off, but rather distinguished style
within an intentionally understated body forming a perfect team with the
magnificent eight-cylinder" - this is how the connoisseur described this unique
Coupé at its time.
BMW's concept of fine lines and reserved, elegant sportiness then led on to the
thoroughbred BMW 3.0 CSi in the early 1970s, a car combining supreme elegance
with equally outstanding sportiness in an ingenious manner. Indeed, BMW's
six-cylinder coupé set the foundation for countless racing successes scored by
BMW works cars and private drivers the world over.

Offroad motorsport: an obstacle race for proving new BMW technologies.
Not only the most demanding driving experience on four wheels set the standard
for BMW and the unique reputation of the white-and-blue brand. For the history
of BMW motorcycles - that is two-wheelers - is also full of innovations. So
visitors enjoying the Geneva Classics are also able to experience the
development of the suspension and running gear by way of three additional
exhibits presenting the telescopic fork on the BMW R12 as well as the Monolever
on the R80 G/S and the Paralever featured on the BMW R1100 GS. All three of
these technical solutions are acknowledged not only as the result of ingenious
technologies, but also as the foundation for supreme performance. For offroad
racing was acknowledged from the start as the right place to try out the latest
innovations and breakthroughs in technology.

The New BMW Museum
The new BMW Museum opening its gates in 2007 at the same location as before on
Petuelring in Munich after thorough re-building and expansion is also being
presented at the Geneva Classics. Indeed, in its new layout and concept, the
BMW Museum will convey the passion and innovative power of the brand in even
more powerful style, offering a perfect synthesis of high-tech and beautiful
aesthetics. The visitor will thus be fascinated by a wide range of themes and
products, as well as innovative design and media architecture.
The new BMW Museum is part of a new, all-round BMW brand experience offered to
visitors in Munich right next to the BMW Group Headquarters and the Olympic
Park through the BMW Welt, the BMW Museum, and Guided Tours of the BMW Plant.
Information displays and an architectural model will provide comprehensive
information on the new BMW Museum at the Geneva Classics.
