MINI HITS "THE REAL WORLD". Second exhibition at Ludlow 38 opens March 30th until May 4th 2008 including works from Andreas Neumeister, Sean Snyder and Wolfgang Tillmans.

New York. After the great success of the launch of the new Manhattan Art Space
"Ludlow 38" the next exhibition is on it's way. "THE REAL WORLD", an exhibition
of works by Andreas Neumeister, Sean Snyder and Wolfgang Tillmans will be on
view from March 30 - May 4, 2008 at "Ludlow 38". MINI is the proud sponsor of
this downtown satellite space for innovative contemporary art.

The Goethe-Institute New York a branch of the Federal Republic of Germany`s
global cultural institution and Kunstverein München, is pleased to announce the
opening of "THE REAL WORLD", the next exhibition at "Ludlow 38", a new downtown
satellite space for contemporary art. Sponsored by MINI, "Ludlow 38" is
exclusively and autonomously programmed by Kunstverein München for its first
year. "Ludlow 38" is located a short walk from the New Museum and at the center
of the emerging gallery scene on the Lower East Side and in Chinatown.

"THE REAL WORLD" at "Ludlow 38" will be open to visit from Friday to Sunday,
always from noon - 8:00 pm or by private appointment.

Andreas Neumeister (1959, Starnberg) is a Munich based writer, recently
published "Könnte Köln sein" Suhrkamp 2008. Neumeister regularly incorporates
the idea of the visual in his literary work. His slide-archive "Three Letter
Words/ Da Real World" 1996 ongoing, navigates through the ubiquitous horizon of
acronyms saturating our life-worlds.

Sean Snyder (1972, Virginia Beach) Visual media, of which television is the
most established, common and vivid, inundates us with a steady flow of images,
which overlap with or even displace reality. Using this premise as a starting
point, Sean Snyder, analyzes with the video work "Schema (Television)", 2007
ways in which we consume within the torrent of image production. Schema
(Television) has been produced using a satellite television and consumer
editing software. It's material composed and commented on by inter-titles, is
broadly thematic: from minimal static signals to news footage, weather reports,
game shows and culinary programs. The editing technique references both the
remote control ease of switching channels and the montage model of Dziga
Vertov's newsreels.

Wolfgang Tillmans (1968 in Remscheid, Germany) developed iconic images that
eschewed the gloss of his contemporaries in the fashion industry, subverting
notions of beauty and sexuality. Shay IV, 2002 was taken in Tel Aviv and
presents an encounter between an Israeli Soldier and the artist.

"Ludlow 38" will host an opening reception on Saturday, March 29th 2008, from
7.00 - 9. 00 pm. Later in the evening, there will be an after-party with DJs
Princess Julia and Lovely Jonjo, London, at Home Sweet Home, at Chrystie Street
(between Delancey & Broome Street).
