Munich. After more than five years as head of development and product lines at BMW Motorrad, Dr.-Ing. Markus Braunsperger (41) is moving to the BMW AG automobile division. He will be taking on the overall management of the Group's bodyshell development. Among other things Dr. Braunsperger was responsible for the development of the new boxer flat twin engine generation and the sports-oriented K 1200 S with its completely new drivetrain.

Munich. After more than five years as head of development and product lines at
BMW Motorrad, Dr.-Ing. Markus Braunsperger (41) is moving to the BMW AG
automobile division. He will be taking on the overall management of the Group's
bodyshell development. Among other things Dr. Braunsperger was responsible for
the development of the new boxer flat twin engine generation and the
sports-oriented K 1200 S with its completely new drivetrain.
He is succeeded by Peter Müller (44) who has headed the marketing and sales
division up to now. The qualified engineer possesses many years of development
experience. Before coming to BMW AG in 1999, Peter Müller was active in the
engine development division of Porsche AG and then headed the product
management area.
As of 01.10.2004, the new head of sales and marketing will be the South African
Pieter de Waal (54). In his last function, Pieter de Waal was responsible for
the motorcycle business in Great Britain. Prior to that he was head of the
motorcycle division of the South African BMW AG subsidiary.
