BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series and BMW 7 Series are the global market leaders
On its first birthday, the 1 Series is well-established in the compact class

Munich. The BMW Group continued its successful course worldwide in September
2005. With 131,705 (previous year: 118,202) BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce
automobiles supplied, sales rose by 11.4% over the same month last year. For
the period up to and including September, i.e. to the end of the third quarter,
988,463 vehicles have already been supplied to customers, which is an increase
of over 100,000 (101,166) cars, or 11.4%, compared with the relevant period
last year (887,297).

For the BMW brand, sales rose in September by 13.5% to 111,518 automobiles
(previous year: 98,227). Year-to-date, BMW dealers delivered 11.4% more
automobiles (828,586 / previous year: 743,929). The BMW 1 Series has now been
on the market for a full year. From its start on September 18, 2004 to the end
of September 2005, the company has already sold over 150,000 BMW 1 Series
(153,435). In the current year, the figure is 114,188. This means that this car
has become a permanent fixture in the compact class in just a short time -
partly, and particularly, because of its totally unique concept. The new BMW 3
Series sedan, which has been available since March this year, also almost
reached the 150,000 sales mark at the end of September (148,818).

The BMW X5 has moved into an outstanding position: since its market launch in
December 1999, over 500,000 (509,910) of this SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle)
have been sold. In the first nine months of this year, the figure reached
76,485 (previous year: 75,807 / +0.9%). The BMW X3, has also generated a
superb market response. By the end of the third quarter 2005, its sales have
risen above the previous year by 40.1% to 84,802 units (previous year: 60,541)
- proving that the BMW X vehicles stand out very clearly in the market through
their unique concept, and are therefore successful.

Dr. Michael Ganal, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for
Sales and Marketing said, "At the moment, we are the world's most successful
manufacturer of premium automobiles in terms of volume sales. This market
leadership applies not only overall but also for the three core models seen
individually: both the BMW 3 Series and also the BMW 5 Series and the BMW 7
Series are the leaders in their own segments."

MINI sales reach 159,413 units in the period up to and including September
Sales of the MINI brand are also continuing to develop satisfactorily. In
September 2005, 20,112 MINI were delivered to customers (previous year: 19,905
/ +1.0%). Year-to-date, the number of vehicles delivered rose by 11.6% to
159,413 (previous year: 142,883). "It was our aim to break the 200,000 barrier
for the first time this year when it came to MINI sales," Ganal said. "The
figures available for the first three quarters of this year show that this
ambitious target is perfectly within our reach."

In September, Rolls-Royce delivered 75 Phantoms to customers (previous year: 70
/ +7.1%). Year-to-date, sales have reached 464 units (previous year: 485 /
-4.3%).

Motorcycle sales in September 2005 reached 7,089 vehicles (previous year: 7,402
/ -4.2%). Year-to-date, the number of BMW motorcycles delivered rose by 12.0%
to 80,840 (previous year: 72,186).
