WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ March 17, 1999...BMW of North America, Inc. will locate its
third regional parts distribution center in Senatobia, Mississippi, about 30
miles south of Memphis. The company, which has reported record-breaking sales
of its performance luxury automobiles for several consecutive years, is
planning for continued growth as well as for the introduction of products such
as its new X5 sports activity vehicle.

"Our two parts centers are operating near capacity now," explained Hans
Duenzl, vice president of Service, Parts and Engineering for BMW of North
America, Inc. "We've seen record growth in our new car sales for the last
several years and with new vehicles coming, we need to keep pace with that
growth. There are more than one million BMWs on the road now and whenever
possible, we are committed to providing next-day parts delivery to BMW
retailers."

Later this year BMW will introduce a new version of its popular 3 Series coupe,
a new M5 sports sedan and an all new X5 sports activity vehicle.

"We examined several locations in the southeastern United States and selected
Senatobia for several reasons. The community is close to major transportation
corridors and air transport hubs; it has a qualified labor pool and the
quality of life is high," Duenzl continued.

"We were impressed with the way the Mississippi Department of Economic and
Community Development, the city of Senatobia and Tate County Economic
Development Foundation presented their community to us and their willingness to
work with BMW." he continued. "We're looking forward to becoming a part of
the community and we're confident that they can help us become operational by
the end of 2000."

BMW has two other regional parts distribution centers. The largest is in Mt.
Olive, New Jersey and the second facility is in Ontario, California.

BMW entered the North American market in 1975. Since then, the company has
grown to include marketing, sales and financial service organizations in the
United States and Canada; a South Carolina manufacturing operation; a design
firm in California; a technology office in Palo Alto and various other
operations throughout the U.S. and Canada. BMW is represented in North America
through a network of more than 375 automobile and 190 motorcycle retailers in
the United States and Canada. BMW (US) Holding Corp., the company's sales and
marketing headquarters for North, Central and South America headquarters, is
located in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey.
