Overview for BMW's 2000 models : BMW FOR 2000: A MODEL YEAR THAT BRINGS SIGNIFICANT EVOLUTION, ENHANCED VALUE AND SPORTY NEW MODELS
Fri Nov 01 12:00:00 CET 99 Press Release
Highlights of BMW's 2000 model year lineup.
Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey...Beginning with March 1999 production of the 7
Series, BMW launched its Model Year 2000 early. The 2000 Z3 Series followed in
April, along with its even higher-performance stablemates the M roadster and
coupe. In June, production of 2000 3 and 5 Series models began, and in
September the new M5 entered production for the U.S. Further product
improvements and value enhancements flowed into the line in subsequent months,
including an upgrade to 3-year/36,000-mile Full Maintenance for all models
except the luxury flagship 750iL - which has included Full Maintenance for 4
years/50,000 miles for many years.
As the debut of BMW's 2000 models proceeded, calendar year 1999 saw the
Bavarian Motor Works' automobiles reaching more customers than ever, with a 19%
increase in new-car deliveries in the first eight months over 1998's
comparable period. This brought year-to-date U.S. BMW sales to 105,182 - a
figure that tops all other luxury passenger-car brands in America.
Model Year 2000 is one of significant evolution, enhanced value for money, and
sporty new models in the 3 Series and the M Cars range. The BMW line now
consists of 20 models in five Series, ranging in base price from $27,560 to
$124,9701. Each model leads its segment in its own distinctive, characterful
way; each embodies quality, performance, driving pleasure and value as only BMW
can combine these attributes.
