THE 2000 K 1200 RS: THE CLASS OF LITER-CLASS POWER

From its introduction in 1984, BMW's K Series RS has represented the pinnacle
of sophistication and performance for large displacement four-cylinder
sport-tourers. For more than 15 years, the K-RS has maintained its lofty
position through constant improvement and evolution. Two years ago, BMW
introduced the latest in that line. By blending new features--such as a
six-speed transmission and a larger-displacement, fully isolated engine--with
the best of K-bike and Boxer design, BMW created a K-RS that pushes that
evolution significantly further.

The K 1200 RS chassis mates a chill-cast, honeycomb aluminum frame with BMW's
superlative Telelever fork and Paralever rear suspension. The rubber-isolated
four-cylinder boasts a whopping 130-horsepower, even as it whips up more torque
than its predecessor from 2000 rpm to redline. The combination makes the K 1200
RS not merely the most powerful BMW motorcycle ever, but the most sophisticated
performance-tourer in the world.

Wrapped around this running gear is a new shape that melds the svelte look of a
modern sportbike with BMW's expected aerodynamics. The sleekly shaped ABS
plastic fairing is a form fit around the rider, deflecting engine heat away
even as it directs the airflow around bike and rider. The two-position
windshield can be positioned to provide a comfortable buffet-free pocket for
pilot and passenger. Fully adjustable ergonomics--clutch and brake levers,
handgrips, footrests and seat height--and new, taller handlebar mounts ensure
this is the most comfortable, adaptable K-RS in history.

BMW's usual high-quality touring options--including heated handgrips,
saddlebags, top box, bag liners and expandable tankbag--further extend the K
1200 RS's long-distance legs. Colors this year include Graphite Metallic,
Marrakesh Red and a special edition Pacific Blue/Silver; which also includes
heated grips as standard equipment. Regardless of the color, however, the
result is simply the finest, most competent four-cylinder sport-tourer on the
market.

THE BMW WARRANTY: THREE YEARS DOWN THE ROAD YOU'RE COVERED, NO MATTER WHERE OR
WHEN

BMW riders have a well-deserved reputation as long-distance travelers, and BMW
of North America rewards their purchase decision with an appropriate warranty.
All new BMW motorcycles are covered by a 3 year/36,000 mile limited warranty.
Included during the warranty period is enrollment in the BMW Motorcycle
Roadside Assistance Plan. For 24-hours a day, 365 days per year, assistance is
just an 800 number away. Coverage in the BMW Roadside Assistance plan can be
continued after the warranty expires for a fee of $35.00 per year.
