BMW of North America, Inc., the importer and distributor of BMW motorcycles in the U.S. since 1980, has broken its previous record for sales in a first quarter, by finishing this term with sales of 2325 units, an increase of 25.1% over 1999.
WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ, April 5, 2000...BMW of North America, Inc., the importer
and distributor of BMW motorcycles in the U.S. since 1980, has broken its
previous record for sales in a first quarter, by finishing this term with sales
of 2325 units, an increase of 25.1% over 1999.
"The K 1200 LT continues to lead the way, although the new R 1150 GS,
introduced in September, has met with strong reviews and capacity demand from
the start," commented Ed Robinson, Vice President of BMW of North America,
Motorcycles.
BMW Motorcycles continue to enjoy a balanced strength across the entire model
range. One area of success for 2000 is the growing family of variant models
offered such as the R 1200 C Euro in the Cruiser segment, and particularly the
R 1100 RL standard. The value priced RL appeals to those who enjoy the classic
feel of the Boxer engine in a simple, elegant package. After a strong beginning
such as this, it looks to be another banner year for BMW Motorcycles.
