Dr. Thomas Wittig has been appointed Executive Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer of BMW (US) Holding Corp., responsible for the company's finance, controlling, treasury, purchasing, human resources and property management functions, effective April 1, 2001.

Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, March 28, 2001... Dr. Thomas Wittig has been
appointed Executive Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer of BMW
(US) Holding Corp., responsible for the company's finance, controlling,
treasury, purchasing, human resources and property management functions,
effective April 1, 2001. Prior to his new appointment, Dr. Wittig was Vice
President, Group Financial Planning and Controlling for BMW AG in Munich.
He joined BMW AG in 1989 and has been promoted several times during his tenure
with the company, assuming increasingly more responsibility in management and
financial positions. Dr. Wittig holds a graduate degree in business
administration and a doctorate in economics from the University of Regensburg,
Germany.
Dr. Wittig succeeds Dr. Werner Adelberger, who has accepted a new position with
BMW Group as head of Assembly and Logistics at BMW Motorengesellschaft, in
Steyr, Austria.
