WOODCLIFF LAKE, NEW JERSEY, June 10, 2001...Traffic jams? Insurance rates?
Gasoline prices? Forget about it! You don't even need a driver's license to
experience the latest Ultimate Driving Machines from BMW.
This summer, the young and the "young at heart" can enjoy the open pavement
with the new battery-powered Z3 Roadster and the X5 Remote Control Vehicle.
Battery-Powered Z3 Roadster
Now, even BMW aficionados-in-training can experience the thrill of driving a
BMW Z3 roadster. Designed for children ages two-and-a-half to five years, this
scaled-down version of the real thing is the perfect vehicle for a trip around
the backyard, cruising the playground, or traveling to a neighborhood
playdate. Its distinctive kidney-shaped grille, enamel logos, alloy
"look-alike" wheels, "roll bar," and long, classic hoodline signify that the
car is distinctly BMW. Powered by a rechargeable battery, this sporty
energy-efficient, one-seat roadster also lives up to BMW's standards for
performance (for children's toys, that is), accelerating up to approximately 4
mph in an impressive 15 seconds. A guaranteed playdate magnet, BMW's
battery-powered Z3 roadster carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of
$299 and is available in one color -- cobalt blue, of course. Make room in the
garage!
X5 Remote Control Vehicle
Whether you're five or fifty-five, you can now experience the thrill of
piloting the BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle -- or, at least a 1:12 scale model
of it. This miniature luxury SAV combines legendary BMW performance, styling,
luxury, and technology to deliver a unique new toy that is nimble, quick and a
joy to control -- even over the toughest "terrain." With a seven-function
remote (powered by a rechargeable battery, included), the X5 Remote Control
Vehicle can be piloted up to a distance of 50 feet at speeds exceeding nine
mph. It has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $113. Warning to
parents and kids -- Don't fight over the remote!
Both the Battery-Powered Z3 Roadster and the X5 Remote Control Vehicle are
available through BMW retailers nationwide, and can be found in the BMW
Lifestyle Collection, which features a full line of BMW clothing and
accessories. For more information, call (888) BMW-ONLINE or visit
