Bauschka Received a Full Evans Scholarship as a Result of Jordan Spieth’s Hole-In-One at the 2015 BMW Championship.

Carmel, IN (September 7, 2016) – BMW of North America and the Western Golf Association announced today that Hayden Bauschka from Carmel, IN has been named a BMW Hole-in-One Scholar, receiving a full Evans Scholarship worth $100,000 to Purdue University. Bauschka received the distinction as a result of Jordan Spieth’s hole-in-one during the 2015 BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, IL.

Bauschka is the fourth recipient of a BMW Hole-in-One Scholarship, which provides a full tuition and housing grant to a deserving young caddie in the name of the first player to record a hole-in-one at the BMW Championship. In addition to caddying for both Prairie View Golf Club and Wood Wind Golf Club in Indiana during high school, Bauschka also volunteered as a collector for Bottle Caps for Cancer, while maintaining a 4.37 GPA. He is currently attending Purdue University and pursuing a degree in construction engineering management.

“The opportunity that the BMW Hole-in-One Scholarship has afforded me is immeasurable and is allowing me to pursue my degree in Engineering without a financial burden,” said Bauschka. “I am extremely grateful to BMW, the WGA and of course Jordan Spieth for the shot that made this possible.”

“Hayden is an extraordinary young man with a bright future ahead of him and we at BMW wish him success at Purdue University,” said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO of BMW North America. “Through the BMW Championship we are proud to support the WGA in their mission to send hardworking caddies like Hayden to college through the Evans Scholars Foundation.”

“Since our partnership began 10 years ago, the BMW Hole-in-One Scholarship is one of many ways that BMW has shown its support of the Evans Scholars Foundation,” said John Kaczkowski, President and CEO of the Western Golf Association. “We greatly appreciate all they have done and continue to do to support sending caddies to college.”

All net proceeds from the BMW Championship benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation, which provides full college scholarships to hardworking, young caddies with financial need and strong academic records. Since becoming title sponsor in 2007, BMW has contributed more than $21 million to the Evans Scholars Foundation. This fall, 935 caddies are attending 20 major universities on Evans Scholarships, and there are more than 10,000 Evans Scholars Alumni.

To celebrate his scholarship, Bauschka was in attendance at the 2016 BMW Championship at Crooked Stick Golf Club where he was able to meet Spieth, who presented him with an autographed pin flag from the BMW Championship.

About the BMW Championship

The BMW Championship dates back to 1899 when it debuted as the Western Open, making it the third-oldest tournament on the PGA TOUR schedule, behind only the British Open and U.S. Open. BMW has sponsored the tournament since 2007 when it became the penultimate event of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs. The BMW Championship features a field of 70 players to determine the final 30 players for the FedExCup finale at the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola in Atlanta.

All net proceeds from the BMW Championship benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation, which grants full college scholarships to deserving young caddies. Since BMW became title sponsor in 2007, the tournament has contributed more than $21 million to the Evans Scholars Foundation.
