Owings Mills, MD – August 17, 2025… BMW congratulates Scottie Scheffler on winning the 2025 BMW Championship today at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Following an exciting final round, Scheffler showcased impressive skill and composure to claim the prestigious BMW Championship title, finishing the week at 15-under par. The dramatic comeback is Scheffler’s fifth career PGA TOUR title win. Scheffler and the top 30 PGA TOUR players will advance to the season-ending TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, GA next week.

“It's been a nice stretch the last few years and I've done some really good things. It's nice to get the results from a lot of hard work,” said Scheffler. “[The win total is] not something I think about day-to-day. I try to approach everything week by week, and when you really boil down to it, just day by day.  This week was a good week. It was a battle all the way through. Fortunate to be sitting here.”

Sebastian Mackensen, President and CEO of BMW of North America, was joined by Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Western Golf Association Chairman Steve Colnitis, and Caves Valley Golf Club Chairman and President Steve Fader, for presentation of the BMW Championship and J.K. Wadley trophies on the 18th green following play.

“Each year, The BMW Championship only gets better,” said Mackensen. “On Saturday, Akshay Bhatia won a 100% electric BMW iX M70 and triggered our donation of the seventh BMW Championship Hole-in-One Scholarship thanks to his hole-in-one on 17. And on Sunday, we watched the conclusion of an incredible battle between Robert MacIntyre and Scottie Scheffler. A big congratulations to Scottie on his victory, and thank you to all our partners, the players, fans, volunteers, and community members who make this event possible.”

All proceeds from the BMW Championship benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation, which provides full college scholarships to hardworking young caddies with strong academic records. Since 2007, BMW has contributed more than $60 million to the Evans Scholars Foundation, helping to send over 4,000 young people to college.

Bhatia’s shot marks the seventh time BMW has awarded a Hole-in-One Scholarship, which is donated in the name of the first player to hit a hole-in-one on any hole during tournament play. The full, four-year tuition and housing scholarship worth $125,000 will be awarded to a new Evans Scholar in Bhatia’s name next Spring.

Earlier in the week, BMW Group Member of the Board of Management Ilka Horstmeier joined several dignitaries and officials to mark the opening of an all-new Evans Scholars House at the University of Maryland which will be home to up to 38 new students. The milestone achievement was made possible in part by the success of the 2021 BMW Championship, which was also played at Caves Valley, and exemplifies this event’s deep commitment to education and youth empowerment.

In 2026, The BMW Championship will head to Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri, and then Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey, in 2027. For more information on The BMW Championship please visit: https://BMWChampionship.com/.

About the BMW Championship

The BMW Championship dates back to 1899 when it debuted as the Western Open, making it the third-oldest tournament on the PGA TOUR schedule, behind only the British Open and U.S. Open. BMW has sponsored the tournament since 2007 when it became the penultimate event of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs. The BMW Championship features a field of the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings to determine the final 30 players for the FedExCup final at the TOUR Championship in Atlanta. Since 2007, the BMW Championship has contributed more than $60 million to the Evans Scholars Foundation, the event’s charitable beneficiary. To learn more, visit www.bmwchampionship.com.
