Woodcliff Lake, NJ – September 14, 2026 . . . OrangeCat Racing, the 2025 MotoAmerica Stock 1000 champions and current Quad Lock Superbike Championship leaders, unveiled a new BMW M 1000 RR livery just for the MotoAmerica Superbikes at Texas weekend at Circuit of The Americas. Riders Sean Dylan Kelly and Jayson Uribe battled not only fierce competition but also track temperatures approaching 120°F, which created slick track conditions and reduced traction in several corners.
Even with the additional challenges presented by the weather, championship leader Sean Dylan Kelly extended his advantage in the Quad Lock Superbike standings with fourth- and third-place finishes, while teammate Jayson Uribe finished sixth and seventh. Uribe remains sixth in the Quad Lock Superbike standings.
With three races and 75 points still available, the MotoAmerica Quad Lock Superbike Championship finale at New Jersey Motorsports Park promises to deliver an exciting conclusion to the season. The OrangeCat Racing team now turns its attention to preparing both BMW M 1000 RR machines for the decisive three-race season finale.
Jeff Connors, OrangeCat Racing Team Principle: "The team did a great job all weekend and none of this happens without BMW Motorrad [Motorsport] and alpha Racing. Saturday was a mixed day, but Sunday was better. We always expect to be on the podium, but we struggled for grip at both ends of the bike, especially on the edge of the tire. We did extend our points lead, and that is the positive. Even so, we go into the final round at New Jersey as if we are zero points ahead.”
Sean Dylan Kelly (rider No. 40 OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR): "I came into COTA with high expectations after some strong performances on my BMW M 1000 RR here in the past. We had more challenges than expected this weekend, but we still made the absolute most of what we had and I’m proud of the work. We head to the last round of the season leading the championship. Time to be 100% focused on New Jersey. Thank you to my team and BMW for all the hard work.”
Jayson Uribe (rider No. 36 OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR): "Overall, COTA was a solid weekend for us. We started off a little behind on Friday and I was struggling to find the confidence I needed on the bike, but the team kept working and gave me something I felt comfortable pushing on when it came time to race.
A massive thank you to my mechanics and the entire crew for the work they put in all weekend, especially after the mechanical issue during Sunday warm-up. They managed to get the bike back together and running before race 2, and it never missed a beat in the race. Really appreciate everyone at BMW for the effort and support. The bike is fast, the effort is there, we just need a little bit of luck and patience. Couldn’t do it without the whole team!”
Quad Lock Superbike Championship Standings
Following the MotoAmerica Superbikes at Texas weekend, Sean Dylan Kelly leads the Quad Lock Superbike Championship by 26 points, while Jayson Uribe remains sixth in the standings.
Next and Final Race Weekend
The 2026 MotoAmerica Superbike season finale will take place September 25–27 at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey.
