Canadians travel down-under to defend BMW Golf Cup International title

Bia Cho from Richmond Hill, ON, Parry Apostolopoulos from Woodbridge, ON, and Sun ?Chul Cha from Thornhill, ON, will represent Canada at the World Final of the BMW Golf Cup International November 17-20 at the New South Wales Golf Club in Sydney, Australia. The event is the culmination of the world?s largest annual amateur golf series, as competitors from 39 countries vie for individual titles in three handicap divisions, and the overall Team title. Cho, Apostolopoulos and Cha will be looking to duplicate the success of Sarah Yoon from Richmond Hill, ON, Robert Jordan from Mississauga, ON, and Derrick Johnson from Hudson, PQ, who captured the Team title at last year?s BMW Golf Cup World Final in Portugal.

Woodbridge, ON, and Sun ?Chul Cha from Thornhill, ON, will represent Canada at
the World Final of the BMW Golf Cup International November 17-20 at the New
South Wales Golf Club in Sydney, Australia. The event is the culmination of
the world?s largest annual amateur golf series, as competitors from 39
countries vie for individual titles in three handicap divisions, and the
overall Team title. Cho, Apostolopoulos and Cha will be looking to duplicate
the success of Sarah Yoon from Richmond Hill, ON, Robert Jordan from
Mississauga, ON, and Derrick Johnson from Hudson, PQ, who captured the Team
title at last year?s BMW Golf Cup World Final in Portugal.

The tournament will be contested over three rounds on the par 72 New South
Wales Golf Club, designed by Alistair McKenzie. Scoring will be done using the
modified Stableford point system.

Ms. Cho, a 16 handicap will compete in the women?s open division. Mr.
Apostolopoulos, a member of the Toronto Board of Trade Golf Club and a 6
handicap will compete in the men?s 0-12 handicap division. Mr. Cha, a member
of the Grandview Golf Club is a 12 handicap also playing in the 0-12 handicap
division.

While in Sydney, participants and their guests will experience the
sportsmanship of international competition, along with five days of Australian
hospitality and culture, BMW style. Included in the program will be a
spectacular yachting excursion with members of the BMW-Oracle racing team and a
golf clinic by three-time Masters and three-time Open Championship winner Nick
Faldo.

For fifteen years now, the BMW Golf Cup International has been synonymous with
providing amateur club golfers the opportunity to compete on the world stage.
BMW subsidiaries and retailers coordinate the series on a national level, while
BMW AG of Munich organizes the World Final. Over 1000 qualifying tournaments
were held worldwide in 2004 with over 100,000 participants. In it?s ninth year
in Canada, the BMW Golf Cup International grew to 40 qualifying events
nationwide, with over 3000 Canadian amateurs taking part. The Canadian team
earned the right to represent their country by winning at the national final
held this past September at ClubLink?s Rocky Crest Golf Club in Mactier, ON.
